I have been with Shipworks since 2010 and they are by far the best shipping solution out there. They have bumps in the road but there system far outweighs any other for simplicity and organization. They will need to start making updates with email and some other stuff but on the WHOLE there is nothing better. I have tried them all and Shipworks has great support and fixes it! Sometimes you do need to call back and talk to a different rep if you don't get the answer you want but they do get it fixed. Nothing but good things to say about Shipworks!!
After using Shipworks for years, I have to recommend avoiding them as a company. It has been a bumpy several years filled with glitches and down time. Typically, the glitches are blamed on stamps.com (their parent company) and are almost always on critical shipping days. When you try to reach out to stamps, you get a follow up email a few days later stating they were too busy to handle your case. Without going into even a small portion of our issues with Shipworks, most recently we had the following issue. Shipworks stopped downloading the majority of our Walmart orders on 3/10. On 3/15 we had several late orders that had never been downloaded. When I reached out to Shipworks, they advised that they were aware of the issue for the past 5 days as Walmart had updated their API and they needed to update their systems (you know, their entire reason for existence?). Shipworks had advised me that they already had an update out that wasn't public. At no time did they advise their customers of 1) an issue or 2) the update. Reasons like this are why I absolutely recommend to build your shipping process on other software. As a note, Shipstation is also owned by the same company as Shipworks. We utilized Shipstation for a while and experienced the exact same inexcusable service.
Been using it for a few years now. It's been great, but been having issues with split orders. When splitting orders, it fulfills the order 100% in shopify with the first tracking number, then never updates shopfify when you fulfill further orders in shipworks. I contacted support and they said they had a previous feature request, but that request has been in the queue for over 3 years. Needless to say, I am looking for an alternative shipping solution.
We've been using ShipWorks for many years to process and ship orders. It is a real time saver with our shipping process and end of year accounting.
So after my previous review, I was contacted by the general manager at Shipworks. After our talk, I feel comfortable with giving Shipworks another shot and hopefully, they can resolve some of the known problems. The platform in itself is solid and has speed and automation that really no other platform has. If they can resolve some of the bugs I believe we will be using this platform for a long time to come.
UPDATED! September 17, 2015:
Shipworks finally fixed the issue. After one month of blaming our internet, our firewall and our computer, they finally realized it was a simple filter that was causing all the slow downs. For any of you that see a "slow" message on your filter, that is BAD. You gotta fix that or all your computers will suffer delays in printing labels. We are giving them 4 stars because the software ROCKS again. But due to their inability to fix such a simple issue after a month which caused us tremendous delays in our shipments.
UPDATED! September 9, 2015:
This went from being our shipping software of choice to a complete disaster. We used to be able to ship thousands of orders with minimal issues. Now, the software is crashing, it takes 10-20 minutes to print ONE LABEL!! It's so utterly ridiculous and their customer service and tech just give us the run around. Nobody there has resolved our issues and they literally tell us "we don't know what is causing it." - That's not good enough. We have already moved our services to another shipping software out of pure frustration. So sad. Shipworks used to be #1 in our book.
ORIGINAL May 6, 2015:
First, this shipping software isn't really an app for Shopify but rather a stand alone desktop program. However, it integrates with Shopify very easily and quite beautifully. It's not cloud based- but that is not necessarily a bad thing. We loved shipworks but also wanted a second software as a back up and tried a couple of Cloud based companies. We quickly learned why desktop is better. We had a sale where we received 30K plus orders in a day and cloud based software we were testing struggled with that many unshipped orders. Not Shipworks. It handles our biggest sales. Even if we have 50K orders in a day, shipworks doesn't even hiccup and downloads them quickly and easily.
It's pretty complex to get it up and running (we required a lot of filters to be created) but once it's going it's amazing! We can even track how many orders each shipper is shipping to give them feedback on productivity. The tech support is by far the friendliest people you will ever speak to. That in my opinion is what makes Shipworks stand apart- whatever you need, they can assist. I only wish they had 24 hour support but you can't have everything. We Love Shipworks!
ShipWorks is a third party installed shipping manager (PC) that aggregate orders from multiple shipping platforms for shipping orders. As I've been using ShipWorks for over a decade now, I'm a big supporter. Having made my life simpler from Day one, it facilitates easy aggregation of orders from multiple selling platforms, bringing all order into one program for easy shipping, processing, order and customer updating. Can have a learning curve for doing custom stuff, but is generally easy to pick up and accomplish. I find their support staff great to work with. Recommended for vendors on multiple selling platforms.
Business model is get you to sign up so they can bill you even if you never use the product. Stay away.
