UTTERLY USELESS.. HOW CAN A BACKUP NOT BACKUP INVENTORY COUNTS...TOTALLY USLESS. I can't believe they don't backup inventory counts

Hello, I’m Kaleigh - head of customer support here at Rewind. I wanted to reach out and make sure you understood that we completely empathize with your frustrations here, as they're frustrations we've felt ourselves.

Our backups rely on webhooks or little digital notifications from Shopify to us regarding items that have changed so that we can make a new record of it. When it comes to inventory - Shopify’s API currently does not consider a sale to be a change associated with a product. Which means that when you sell something, we are not notified of the inventory update as a ‘change’ to your product.

When a product is restored to an earlier version - we can keep the inventory exactly as it is in the present moment (because we can see it), but when a product is DELETED, we have no record of the inventory changes, so we set the inventory at 0.

Although we do backup your product images, title, description, tags, price and variants I want to apologize that inventory not being included in this this wasn’t clear, and assure you that it’s always top of mind for us in conversations with Shopify about the API.

Given the level of disappointment I’d really appreciate having a conversation with you about it and what we can do to help assure you of our commitment to backing up your store data as much as we possibly can.

I have been using it for about 3 weeks now. Great app. Very easy installment. Hopefully I'll never need one of the backups. It is great to have as a piece of mind considering the endless hours of work going into the online store. Don't want to see it ever lost by something out of my control.

So far this is a great app it does exactly what it says it does. Couldn't be happier since it would a burden to rebuild my store and products. Thanks for the great product.

I was looking for an app to provide a backup of my store and Rewind offered everything we needed in a very easy way to install and utilize. The customer service is excellent and really quick to reply to any questions.

Terrific app to provide peace-of-mind. I love the fact that Rewind is always on duty, if something should ever happen to our website content. Highly recommended for all Shopify clients!

There is a competitor (I forget the name) that looks almost the same feature for feature. I tried them first only because they offer one extra feature: backup to Google Drive.

However, their system didn't work at all. It just simply never successfully completed a backup.

So I switched to Rewind and it is pretty amazing. Everything just works, but I got a few things I didn't expect. Like you get a weekly report of how many changes you made on your site.

And it's super easy to navigate and find old versions. I haven't had to restore anything yet, but it looks like it would be easy. And Mike from Rewind tells me they have saving to Google Drive on their roadmap for 2017.

I wish the $5/month plan were a little more generous because we're just over the limit, but all in all, it's a great app and there was clearly a lot of work that went into this, so they deserve their paycheck!

Fortunately I haven't had to use the "rewind" feature yet but the install was smooth and effortless. The app UI is simple and intuitive. With no access to FTP or databases with Shopify this backup app is crucial if you want to sleep sound at night. It's the best reviewed backup app on the app store so the obvious choice. Along with keeping your data safe it's nice to know since you don't have much of a test development choice for Shopify, that you can easily reverse changes you've made to your shop if they just didn't work out, especially if you're modifying your theme.
