App is working fine as long as all your customers are subscribed into VIES. If some of them are not, they can't proceed with their purchase which I believe is a strong limitation. They should just go ahead with VAT included, as simple as that

This app is great! It does exactly what I need with VAT displaying for my retail and wholesale customers. Thorsten is very good with support and prompt with any help needed. He made changes to my theme code as I have a custom theme. Very happy :-)

When we first decided to move our web site to a hosted service we put Shopify at the top of the list but then had to strike it off due the fact that it couldn't handle the EU requirements for VAT. Exemptify changed that and made it possible again. Exemptify handles B2C and B2B VAT both for EU and non-EU customers, Support has been absolutely brilliant, with Thorsten fixing our theme to display the price properly within a couple of hours of us asking. I honestly have never received such amazing support.

I installed this app after changing shopify theme and no longer having custom VAT coding in the new theme.

I only use the pricing display portion of the app, and after a few hiccups Thorsten has got it to work seamlessly with my new theme. He went above and beyond it making sure any glitches were completely ironed out, and also transferred the coding over without hesitation when the theme developer released an updated version (only a day after install).

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, the app itself is great, but what sets it apart from other similar solutions is the willingness of the developer to help you make it work properly.

I just enable Exemptify in my www.imperfectsmile.com webstore, for selling easily both in Europe and United States, where different rules about VAT and other taxes apply. It would have been impossible to manage these differences without the help of an app as Exemptify. What's more, I needed some special intervention on my theme and the service was surprisingly quick! I suggest Exemptify to everyone who needs to deal with different taxes in different countries.

EDIT 30/05/2018: Developer has changed the text with our prices, which now means the text is all squashed.

Waiting for a reply from them to fix this back to how it was....

The two prices (inc & ex VAT) flashes up then disappears, so doesn't work for us.

Shame as we only wanted it to show both prices, not for all the VAT ID features.

Price text on collections if far too big too and overlaps so looks awful on our site

Had to uninstall after no-one on live chat and no response to email :(

I've just set this up, with Thorsten's help on one aspect I was struggling with to do with the comma vs dot question as the decimal point. Actually it is explained in the "documentation" section but I hadn't spotted it. The app seems to do exactly what I wanted and Thorsten replied to me within a very short time, thanks!

Thorsten is an absolute star - fantastic customer service. He was swift at getting things done and totally patient with all my questions.

I'm based in the UK so it was frustrating with the whole VAT issues - if you want to be able to show your products in the UK with VAT but enable your international customers view and purchase without then this is the app for you. It works great. I'm very happy.

The cheaper and best app for EU tax exempt !

This is the perfect solution for any business trading from Germany as it elegantly complies with German regulations. Furthermore it seamlessly integrates, is a breeze to install and support is 1st class. Highly recommended.

We decided to go for Exemptify as we needed to be able to sell to European Business Customers with a EU tax exempt. There are not many solutions, and most app vendors (including Shopify) do most of the times not understand the different tax and consumer laws in Europe. Exemptify does allow you to have prices excl. VAT in Shopify, add the tax amount when needed, add no tax when a customer has a valid tax exempt, and still show consumer pricing INCLUDING VAT in your store at all times. Not like the US, Canada, UK, etc calculating and showing it when checking out.
It was not flawless from day one, as we had to do some adjustments to our stores template. But Thorsten was very responsive, very helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. So now we are very happy with our perfect working solution for now, thanks to Thorsten. Our store has grown tremendously since then.
Good to see that there are app developers who are able to compensate for a fairly major flaw in a product (Shopify) which is basically not yet made for the European market. The same is true for languages in Shopify !

Works as advertised. Easy to set up and has good support from the developer.
