My experience with Flair began promisingly four months ago. The impact wasn't monumental, yet the functionality was discernible, providing an initially satisfactory user experience. However, the trajectory took a negative turn from there, leading to concerns worth sharing.

Flair requested an in-app star rating, to which I readily gave five stars, given the initial efficacy of the product. However, a few days later, a surprise awaited me in my inbox. A Flair representative emailed me, offering a month's free usage in exchange for a 5-star review on the Shopify app store. They even went as far as to provide a review draft which stated, "FlareAI has amplified our store's Google presence from 40 to 551 products, leading to a noticeable increase in organic sales and traffic."

Now, to clarify a glaring discrepancy: my store's inventory consists of a mere six products, a far cry from the 551 figure quoted in the drafted review. This discrepancy indicates that other reviews on this page using the same script may be founded on falsehoods, significantly undermining the credibility of their testimonies.

But it doesn't stop there. The offer of a "free month" triggered a realization that Flair had been charging me without my explicit awareness. Yes, I had approved a Shopify page, but it was presented as a requirement for the one-time fee they also mentioned. Subsequently, I discovered that they had been subtly billing me between $15 to $29 monthly, a fact I was oblivious to until now.

Digging deeper, I discovered a somewhat concealed detail: Flair charges based on "sales attributable to FlairAI." In simpler terms, they levy a 1% fee per order if the customer navigates to the store via Google or other search engines, which happens to be a majority of the time. This model of operation is murky at best and poses serious questions about their business ethics.

Regardless of how they respond to this review, the inconsistencies in their communication and dubious charging practices speak volumes. Their responses are often templated and involve grossly inflated figures. I strongly urge potential users to consider these factors before engaging with this application.

1. Store URLs
Yes, your store contains 16 products. But where flareAI helps you grow your organic presence is by optimizing for currency-language URLs. As you notice, you are offering your product pages with various currency-language options. flareAI submits your store's products, pages, blogs, and collections, including all currency-language URLs. So in total, it is 705 URLs. Out of these 705 URLs, when you added flareAI, only 40 URLs were found. As on May 10, 2023 flareAI has helped your store to get 569 URLs found on Google.

2. Your initial 5-star review on flareAI Dashboard:
flareAI recommendation engine automatically sends a written 5-star review request to those who clicked on a 5-star rating on the flareAI dashboard. As a store owner, you know how important reviews are. It's common for users to give 1-star ratings, obtaining 5-star reviews can be more challenging but immensely valuable to our app's success. Plus! We are thankful to those who spend their valuable time sharing their experience with flareAI. It is similar to you as a Shopify merchant offering coupons and discounts to your customers :-)

3. Billing Approval Page
We have mentioned in detail your store's billing components in the App approval page while you added flareAI. It is possible you have missed reading it. We replied to your email regarding the billing query on April 22, 2023.

I installed the app 3-4 months ago. They were very responsive to an issue I had. I got a few sale right away. FOG scores varied from 20-30% within a month, then jumped to almost 100, now back down to 29. Urls went from 900, jumped to over 2k, then down to 200, then back to 900. There were about 1000+ products in my store during this time, so no idea what that was about. I wouldn't have cared if sales had resulted, but it's been a few months with no more sales. Over all still a wonderful app to have as it does help with marketing on Google but would love more sales from this app.

My store has nearly half-a-million products but my Found on Google score was 0%. In just a short time, flareAI has got 2027+ urls found on Google. I understand, on average every new URL generates over $204 in additional sales. I will take the additional revenue, especially when it is virtually zero cost, with no paid ads or paid marketplaces. Also, the response to my support request was quick and resolved to my satisfaction

Well done developers. It is obvious that they are trying. The app really helps to promote listings on the google search engine, 93% of my URLs can now be found on google. I would recommend that developers completely cancel the monthly subscription and introduce an increased commission on the sale of goods, not 1%, but for example 10-15%. Then the customers will remain and the income will grow smoothly and the company will develop. Or set any individual rates for the number of URLs. The app currently shows order conversions for all newly found URLs. It would be nice to see how much traffic this particular application is attracting. I don't mind sharing profits with the developers if it brings me income.

I took a chance on this app, thought it might be good. A one time up front fee and 1% seemed fair... Boy was I fooled.

I did the up front, one time charge, and now they're milking $50 from me each month. Never informed me of the price change.
Can't show evidence of the sales that they claim they generated. Half the time the dashboard doesn't load. Nah fam, $200+ dollar out the door for as many views.
Predatory bait and switch that targets small businesses.

The 2 stars are cause at least I showed up on google, but I don't need an "ai" to do that.

In the email sent today, we have included screenshots of the app listing and approval pages showing the app pricing. Our apologies that it was not clear to you.

You added the app on September 11, 2022 and removed the app on December 23, 2022. During this period, your pages Found on Google have grown from 0 to 911 products. Growing sales from Google Search is a long game. But its performance is profitable & permanent.

With unique quality product descriptions, nice images, and compelling offers every product newly found on Google potentially adds to the revenue. On average flareAI Shopify clients generate $204 for every product newly found on Google.

As mentioned in the App Approval page (screenshot attached in an email to you today) and also in the "Billing Explained" section of your app dashboard, the billing is designed so your Shopify store and flareAI can grow together, by continually adding more powerful features & free sales channels.

The 3 billing components:

1. One-time Setup: Covers cost of registering your store with 25+ API

2. 2nd Month Onwards Resource: When you add the app, from day one every product in your store consumes storage, processing, and submission resources. The minimum Resource charge is designed to cover the cost of resources consumed

3. Performance Incentive: flareAI worked to get a product newly found on a free sales channel, say Google Search. The product then received an order from this channel. flareAI earns 1% of the order total. We make it easy for you to monitor performance! Simply use the POP report in your flareAI dashboard

As stated in the "Add approval" page before approving the page, we also display the assurance that the total (of 2 & 3 above) will never be more than your agreed maximum monthly.

AI (machine learning): As one example of the usage, Google has a daily quota for submission. flareAI uses machine learning algorithm to forecast which product is likely to sell 8 weeks from now, and uses the inference to figure out which products to feed to Google today.
