The App offers many great features that work very well for us and the customer. Especially the option to send the gift voucher directly by email on a day of choice. The App configuration needs some time to adjust but the team was super fast to adapt design and some minor things.
So far, so fabulous! The app has resolved our Gift Card concerns and exceeded our expectations. As soon as it was loaded and we started customizing it the existing Shopify gift cards synced to the app. Shopify and the app reconciled.
We are delighted with the customization options and our customers have reported receiving the Gift Cards in their inbox and being able to send them on the selected date. Additionally, we have noticed a considerable decrease in the number of Gift Cards being filtered to spam or junk folders. Customers purchase gift cards, and funds are accepted immediately.
Card scheduling causes Shopify reporting discrepancies on gift cards that are scheduled at a future date. Not sure if that is a Shopify or app issue. This will be a concern closer to the holidays.
Another issue, but not a huge deal, cards manually issued (not purchased) after installation doesn't go into the apps analytics for balancing. There isn't a manual sync button. Currently, we don't use the analytics for reconciliation, so it is ignored for now.
Will possibly update the review after the holidays when reconciliation will become difficult with the anticipation in the increase of scheduling.
From a functionality standpoint, this was the only app that provided the tools we needed and now that we have some work arounds in place, it seems to be working well (we're only 2 days in, so we have limited data but testing and early customer usage seems to indicate all is good). My biggest issue is the lack of documentation. That is somewhat offset by the prompt and responsive support I received from the GCH team, but I really prefer documentation to help better understand the product. I think general ecommerce stores will have no issues but we're a little more complicated and needed to deal with in store pre printed Shopify gift cards and how to navigate them within GCH (you really can't so we kept a our physical cards as a separate product). Even with some quirks, it's well worth it to have a POS compatible product with most of the gift card features that native Shopify is lacking.
