They haven’t been able to fix one of the major issues for at least a year now. If a customer purchases 2 or more large files, the download simply fails — they can’t download the files, so they think they’ve been scammed. This has caused a huge amount of unnecessary work, as well as numerous PayPal disputes and Stripe chargebacks, because customers aren’t receiving the products they paid for.
I’ve reported this problem to support about 15–20 times, but they keep giving vague answers without any real solution, insisting that everything works fine on their end. The last time, they managed to figure out that the issue mainly occurs when customers try to download multiple files at once, and their “solution” was to tell me to disable the “Download All” function — meaning customers would have to download each file individually. That is absurd, and it’s not a solution at all.
I expect a real fix for this issue, because it’s been a year with no resolution and I’ve already lost hundreds of dollars because of it. I’m also requesting some form of compensation, as the app hasn’t been functioning properly for an entire year — and since we’re talking about around 4,000 files, migrating to another app would be an enormous amount of work.

We are very sorry that you had a negative experience using the application.
Currently, our application stores files on cloud storage, and we have established CDN caching in most regions worldwide, ensuring data speeds in most areas.
Regarding the "Download All" feature slowing down downloads, this is a documented issue as it requires files to be compressed into zip files, which increases download times.
We are currently investigating a solution to this problem; if unsuccessful, we may decide to remove this feature entirely to avoid negatively impacting the user experience.

I really like this app, and it's run by a very responsive and responsible team. Bonnie and Cade were my most recent customer service agents, but all have been stellar. They take suggestions to heart, and more than one of my suggestions have been implemented which makes a customer feel like their input is important. It is flexible and easy to use. Definitely one of the best Digital Downloads Apps on Shopify!
So far, everything has gone well.
Easy to use and versatile. Allows me to connect docs/eBooks via shareable link from my own cloud storage or upload them to the app. Easy licensee key use. I'm able to include a link to instructions or a link back to a different product for promotion. It integrated old orders with archived product pages allowing customer purchase history to access previous downloads.
#1 Reason we use it
We use one product page to sell one-off docs that change to a different doc when restocking. Most apps could not allow us to keep the docs original to the order purchase in the customer order history so they can redownload if needed.
Most other apps, only offer the option to "update" the order history with a new doc. This meant we had to create a different product page for every restock of a one-off doc, even though the product page is identical. (NOT IDEAL) This app solved this problem easily. We can restock one product page with a different one-off doc and the order history retains the original doc for redownload.
The customer service is top tier. They quickly communicated with us extensively pre-purchase and after for instillation. We never had any issues with the installation, just questions to reassure we were setting it up properly for our unique needs. The app has clear instructions built-in with multiple options for use.
We've used several other aps, like the owl one, which we dropped because the app would miss purchases in an order and failed to deliver them to the customer. Never had that problem with LDT.
