After being wildly disappointed with Shopify's reporting capabilities, I decided to look for an app we could use to support our needs. A must-have reporting tool for serious Shopify businesses
Report Toaster has been an absolute game-changer compared to Shopify’s native reporting, especially when it comes to compliance and financial clarity. Shopify’s built-in reports are fine at a surface level, but they fall short the moment you need real detail—particularly for interstate commerce, tax reporting, and separating gift card activity.
Report Toaster allows me to pull exactly the data I need, the way I need it, without having to export multiple reports and manually manipulate spreadsheets. The ability to clearly separate **gift card sales vs. redemptions** alone is invaluable, both for accurate revenue tracking and for working cleanly with accounting and tax records.
Where this tool truly shines is that I can easily break down sales by state, track taxable vs. non-taxable sales, and generate reports that actually make sense for filing and reconciliation. This level of transparency is something Shopify’s native reports simply don’t provide without significant workarounds.
The customization, filters, and scheduling options save an incredible amount of time and reduce errors—especially important when dealing with compliance and audits. If you run a multi-state business, sell gift cards, or need reporting that goes beyond “basic,” Report Toaster is not optional—it’s essential.
