It works fine to split orders but there are some pretty annoying side effects. I wouldn't recommend using a tool like this if you can avoid it and work within Shopify Fulfilment Locations instead.
- Any order created by Split Order cannot be edited at all
- If customers go the current status of their orders they show as "refunded" which is confusing / concerning for customers
- Inflates sales in Shopify Analytics. I thought it would only inflate Gross Revenue and Returns but it also inflates Net Revenue. Basically all your data becomes a mess that you have to build custom reports to find the truth.
Thanks for your honest review, and this is an important consideration for those thinking about installation! While we know workflows greatly vary, I'll respond to this thread with some powerful new workarounds based on the feedback so more merchants needing order splitting can really benefit with minimal issues. In the meantime, here's a guide to help with testing SplitOrder: https://mercantileapps.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/media/guides/splitorder_shopifyorderedits.pdf
