Why should I display shipping rates in the shopping cart?
According to the UPS Pulse of the Online Shopper Survey (PDF), a "44% of shoppers abandoned a cart because they wanted to get an idea of total costs (including shipping) to compare before buying".
When questioned about "Reasons for abandoning shopping carts", 34% answered "Shipping and handling costs were listed too late during the checkout process".
Showing shipping rates up front is key because it reduces friction and enhances the customer experience.
How does it work?
The app autodetects your customers' location using a precision IP database. Then queries the Shopify API to get the different shipping options for that location.
How do I configure my shipping rates?
Shipping Rates Calculator+ displays your shipping rates exactly as they are configured in your Shopify admin.
The app cannot be used to configure shipping rates, only to display them. The shipping rates have to be configured in advance in your Shopify admin.
How are the shipping rates displayed?
The shipping rates are displayed in your shopping cart page, with a map showing the customer location and the option to select a different location.
If there are several shipping options for a location, all options and their rates are displayed.
If real-time carriers are configured, the estimated delivery dates are also displayed, taken into account weekends and a configurable cutoff time.

Installation

Please note that the application may not be compatible with third-party apps from the Shopify App Store that modify the shipping rates or cart prices in any way.

Great App, Offered exactly what I was looking for.
It helps you calculate the shipping at your cart view, which would let your customers know what to expect about shipping costs instead of them proceeding to the checkout page without knowing this vital information. it would definitely help reduce abandoned carts and would give customers better trust of your website. great app. Takes time off my hands from answering customer emails and configuring how much shipping will cost outside of the US. Definitely think it helps with customers abandoning cart.
