The app is good for using the counter, but it feels like it's lacking behind the current Shopify level of sales granularity. We use net sales targets internally like a lot of business and it's a bit frustrating that we can't set the counter to show net sales. The data is available from Shopify, so I feel this should be pretty standard. If you could add this, it would make the counter / app much more functional.
Counter keeps resetting to 1 after I've entered our actual order total during set-up. I don't recommend buying one of these counters, they're utter rubbish.
This app does not work. I don't really understand why and I've spent so much time troubleshooting it. Life must go on!
Should have paid attention to the negative reviews. Received 1/13. Today is 2/22. I've had nothing but problems with this thing. On too many times to count, it randomly shuffles numbers. It will go back to the original number but on several occasions it doesn't. All the numbers will shuffle, each column by itself, twice. Then it will land on all lines as the first number. If you unplug and turn it back on 10 minutes later. Nothing. If you do that an an hour later. Nothing. You have to unplug the thing and leave it off, unplugged for a few days, and only then does it reset. Shameful there are no refunds on this thing. Waste of money.
Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the issues you've encountered — we completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially after having the device for over a month.
The shuffling and resetting behaviour you're describing is absolutely not the experience we want for our customers, and we're sorry it's taken so much troubleshooting on your end. We'd really love the opportunity to make this right and work through these issues with you directly. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at supply@shopify.com and we will do everything we can to investigate and find a resolution for you. Thank you for your patience!
We were asked by shopify to upgrade to this app:
"We notified you via email to install the new Shopify Counter App to improve functionality and create a more seamless experience. As a result, the original app will now officially sunset on March 1, 2026 and will no longer work after that date."
Unfortunate the new app is as bad or even worse than the previous app.
It's impossible to show the number we want. We are on Shopify+ and would like to show consolidated turnover of our 2 stores.
Would love to connect the app to a custom shopify report, next select the number we want to send to smiirl
Hi there,
It is not currently possible to consolidate data across multiple stores and connect to a custom Shopify report; however, we are always exploring ways to improve the future of our App.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear the transition hasn't met your expectations. If you are having challenges with your Shopify Counter, please feel free to reach out to supply@shopify.com and a representative would be happy to assist you in troubleshooting further.
Thank you again for your patience and for being a valued Shopify merchant.
Please bring back custom date ranges! My viewers are always asking how many orders I got during a big product launch. I used to be able to select a custom range, and the feature was removed. Also, your "Get Support" button doesn't work, so I have to communicate this via review.
Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review — we truly appreciate the feedback. We're happy to let you know that custom date ranges are back! You can now select a custom range to display exactly the data you need. We hope this makes the experience much more useful for you and your viewers.
We also sincerely apologize that the "Get Support" button wasn't working. This has been flagged to our team. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at supply@shopify.com, and we'd be happy to walk you through the new custom date range feature.
Why does it take orders away from my counter at random and also when I refund an item in an order it discounts the order I'm not refunding the whole order just 1 item. doesn't make sense. I hate it.
Hi there,
Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear you've had a frustrating experience, we want to make sure we clear a couple of things up for you.
Regarding the partial refund behaviour: when a refund is issued on any item within an order, this will remove the order from the counter count entirely. We understand this may feel unexpected, but this is actually intended logic within the app — as a refund signals that the order was not fully completed as placed. We appreciate that this may not be the behaviour everyone expects, and we're sorry for any confusion.
As for the random order removal you're experiencing, this is something we'd love to look into further as it is not expected behaviour. Please reach out to us at supply@shopify.com so our team can investigate your specific setup and get this sorted for you as quickly as possible.
Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback.
I'm not experiencing the sync issues of other people as most of you don't seem to have set it up with the correct settings per the instructional page using ID and Token. It works fine if you followed the instructions.
My issue is with the filtering capabilities of what number is displayed. The difference between Paid and Unpaid is objectively stupid and your team should have more logical reasoning skills than to simply filter on status = Paid or show all, ESPECIALLY since the checkbox is not to "only show paid orders" but rather "show unpaid orders". Deselecting this (i.e. removing Unpaid orders) should not removed partially refunded orders as THESE ARE PAID. It should only remove refunded and unpaid orders as the checkbox implies. There is no option to actually show the desired number as I'm either looking at all orders, including refunded ones, or I'm looking at only paid orders that did not get have a partial refund (all were simply refunding shipping, the order is still paid). This is the work of unskilled labor with no business insight to make the filtering so simplistic and incorrect. Your AI theme section generator could create this better.
Ideally there would be more options to filter by the status so we can choose it for ourselves, and even better would be to allow filtering by tags to remove samples and affiliate orders and anything else we don't want to count as "real" orders. As it stands I'm looking at a number that either under or over represents my order volume.
We're sorry the filtering features aren't meeting your expectations. We take your feedback very seriously and will ensure that it is taken into consideration. We appreciate you reaching out. If you are experiencing any additional challenges, please don't hesitate to reach out to supply@shopify.com
Brand new, out of the box and I think it's possessed. I chose total sales, it jumps to 10. I've had 1, so where the heck does 10 come from?! I put it on last order number and it's correct at 1001. Just sitting here trying to figure things out and the possessed box jumps from 10 to 20. Uh...? I thought this would be a neat way to celebrate sales. Maybe I'll need to write my own code to use Smiirl's API. Such a disappointment after being excited for this to arrive.
It doesn’t work. It completely ignored the settings I configured for the counter and kept counting up, even when I hadn’t received any orders.
I tried reaching out to Shopify support, since it’s listed as their app, but the AI bot wouldn’t log the bug or connect me to a real person.
So I went back to the old counter app, which seems to be working for now.
