Merchants highly recommend this app for its robust inventory management, especially for businesses with multiple SKUs and locations. It effectively syncs inventory across platforms like Clover and Shopify, supports SKU bundling, and offers powerful reporting tools. The user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, including auto-ordering for low inventory, are notable benefits. 5 Stars! I cannot begin to express the level of excellence with my experience so far! I write in weekly with questions as my business is getting up and going and ALWAYS receive a quick response yet thorough answer from the agent. Gotta give an extra shout out to agent Alejandro for his level of patience and expertise! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We love our support team and they really appreciate you as a customer :-) We'll give Alejandro your kudos!
I am torn between giving this app 3 and 4 stars. The customer service gets 5 stars. Hyper responsive helpful chat support and great onboarding. This app itself has several limitations that would be deal breakers except I can't find any viable alternative. There are many positives. It looks like the low inventory reports, expiration date tracking, bundling features will work well for us. They want you to create all products in Shopventory, but there doesn't appear to be any consequence for creating them in Shopify and then importing them, which is great. 1) You cannot edit any cost information once inventory is received. This means that we either give up on trying to use Shopventory to track our inventory costs, or we have to wait to receive (and start selling) inventory until these costs can be determined. We typically don't know freight costs at the time the PO is created or the inventory is received. My inventory staff are not my accounting staff, so they don't have access to these numbers.
2) The purchase order list page shows invoice subtotals, which means we can't easily scan this list to match POs to payments on our bank statement and credit card statements, which of course reflect the order total after discounts and freight. I cannot imagine a use case where any customer would prefer to see subtotals.
3) The purchase orders are so unpolished as to be borderline illegible and do not reflect well on our business. I don't need fancy, but these are too rough. Our address is long so it runs right into the adjacent field, as no padding is built in. One of the fields defaults to %null% rather than just 0 or blank. You can't email a PO unless you've created it (which runs into having final cost information I mentioned on #1). Even if we did email it, the email is very unpolished and you cannot set any default email text. I'd love to have a quick default message asking the vendor to confirm receipt and provide us with an estimated delivery date, and provide our contact information on this email. You can provide a custom note, but this note shows up at the bottom of the email as a "user note:" I am not my vendor's "user"!
4) Vendor info from Shopify isn't pulled over, so this makes setup VERY time consuming for us as we have about 100 vendors and well over 1000 products. We're sticking with it because despite these frustrations, our current lack of inventory control is causing even more problems. I know that building an app this robust is daunting, but these aspects feel as though no one has really thought them through.
Hi there and thank you for the detailed review! Lots of great feedback in here we're happy to address:
1. Shopventory does allow you to edit cost information after the product has been received. If you go to your main inventory page in Shopventory, you'll see a column for "Costs". If you see that your costs are blue, you can click on them to edit specific batches of received product!
2. Yes, you are correct that the Purchase Order list screen only shows the subtotals for the invoice. We are working on adding a column for the full Total!
3. We appreciate the feedback on the Purchase Order interface! We're sharing with our engineering team for review
4. You are correct that vendor information is not pulled over from Shopify at this time but we are actively working on that feature! Stay tuned.
We have a Clover EPOS and the Shopventory integration has allowed us to seamlessly integrate and manage stock quantity across offline and online channels. Really impressed with the customer support from the team, Dean, Kayla & Valerie have been excellent. Thanks guys!
Hi there and thanks for your great review! It's great knowing that you're using Thrive to sync Clover with Shopify. We'll pass along the kudos to our support team!
The customer service team is fast, professional, and very friendly. They are quick to respond to help me out w/ my questions regarding the platform and help me walk through the features that I am looking for. Alejandro was wonderful to work with!
I think this platform is great starting place, however, I would like more customizable features to really enhance what each business needs.
Hi and thanks for your review! We'll pass along the kudos to Alejandro!
We appreciate the feedback on needing more platform customization. We are working on a lot of features like this right now! Stay tuned.
This app is not deleting my location and data from the account setting. I want to delink my shopify account from here.
Hi and thank you for the feedback here.
Our Customer Care team would be more than happy to help you with disconnecting your Shopify account. You can connect with them through the blue chat bubble on our website (shopventory.com), or through the Shopventory app itself.
You can also email help@shopventory.com
Thank you!
Shopventory has not only been a valuable asset we've linked to our shopify account. Not only is there easy of use with their app, their customer service is TOP NOTCH! Brandon and James Auer provided excellent onboarding answering questions and helping me find solutions that best fit our company process and culture! Thank you both!
Hi! Thanks for your great review. We appreciate your compliments of our app and are happy to hear you've enjoyed working with our team! We'll pass along the kudos to James and Brandon.
Four years ago, our store's finance lead, Marilyn Radikopf, suggested using Shopventory to help manage inventory and store sales. Over the past year, Level 10 Performance Motorsports continues to grow with the development of an online presence with a Shopify website. Just this past week, we began integrating our Shopventory account with the Shopify website. Have found Shopventory support to be above and beyond which makes this transition all the easier. Thank you Rosalind and the Shopventory team!!
We are so grateful that your store's finance lead recommended our software to manage your inventory and store sales. We are very happy to have you as a customer and to see and support the continued growth of your business. Thank you for the great review of our software.
Alejandro from Thrive has helped me and will continue to assist me.
Thanks so much for your positive review! We'll make sure to pass on the kudos to Alejandro.
While Shopventory are good at answering the live chat, their platform leaves a lot to be desired.
The summarised version: Overpriced, syncing issues and product fields being overwritten, wiped almost two months of data, lost sales and shipping revenue.
Where the problems started:
We tried to disable a location we use as a workaround in Shopify to track inventory of bundled product (gift sets) as this was one of the bells and whistles Shopventory offered. Unfortunately, Shopventory deleted the whole integration. Outcome, all PO data, lot costs etc. were deleted and we had to start from scratch. We were almost two months in so a considerable amount of time was wasted. It's evident there isn't a robust control framework as this is a catastrophic failure. I had to negotiate to have them credit one month's subscription fee ($99).
Shopventory want you to create your products and manage all product details on their platform. This could work, though not necessary, if they supported all product fields. Fields they're currently missing are variant weights, compare prices, SEO descriptions etc.
As mentioned above, variant weights aren't supported in Shopventory. We've discovered through orders being charged incorrect shipping rates as Shopventory has randomly overwritten variant weights meaning our Shopify weight based shipping mapping is rendered useless. This has directly impacted sales and lost shipping fee revenue.
If you make a product inactive in Shopventory (say you want to remove it form the storefront or you've created a product and not ready to list to customers), then this actually deletes the product from Shopify. This again can be catastrophic if you use google merchant to list products as you will need to create a new product and go through the product approval process all over again. This is particularly painful during COVID-19 as google's product review team is reduced meaning products can take up to 4 weeks+ to be approved.
Shopventory advertise an almost simultaneous syncing with Shopify. This is not the case and manual forced synced are a common occurence.
Overall, Shopventory is trying to cater to everyone and anyone (lots of different market places etc). Without doing any one of them well. Jack of all trades, master of none. They've advised adding variant weights, compare prices etc. are in the works yet they're wasting their time by adding in a 'pricing calculator' to allow merchants to have Shopventory do the basic math of calculating product prices. Who in their right mind buys inventory creates a product and then has to work out what price to sell it at? Surely anyone with basic business acumen would determine margins, selling price, etc. before committing to purchasing a product..?
We have since moved to Zoho for a fraction of the price $49 for full features compared to $99 for Shopventory's standard (yet slimmed down) plan. Given Zoho is a well established company with a robust accounting platform that's on equal footing with the likes of Quickbooks and Xero, you know you're getting a robust platform. We're planning to move our accounting platform to Zoho as well to take advantage of having everything under the same platform without yet another integration.
Want to have Shopventory integrate with Quickbooks to post the actual cost of goods sold? Think twice. for an additional $39 a month Shopventory will create a sales invoice in quickbooks that serves of little value. Zero accounting entries are performed.
Thank you for your feedback and input. We sincerely appreciate it. We apologize for the poor experience you had with our platform while you were working with our team to cancel your extra Shopify location to move from Shopventory’s $99/mo package to our $49/mo package. The communication from our team could have been clearer when discussing plan limitations and we’ll make sure to clarify further with customers moving forward.
Thank you for the feedback on our features as we’re always looking to improve our product. Shopventory’s niche is cross channel inventory management across multiple locations and it appears your requirements may be more in the Shopify-only platform domain. Based on your feedback we will be improving some of those specific feature sets. The input on additional fields we should support are very helpful.
We hope we will have the opportunity to earn your business again at some point in the future.
I downloaded the app for linking to our Shopify, although it performed reasonably well for many things, it did not meet our needs so I deleted the app from our Shopify apps in September. However, I just was charged $2,387.00. I think these guys try hard, but clearly not hard enough. I'll be doing a charge back. I was told in an email after complaining that "Just deleting our app will not cancel your subscription to Shopventory." BEWARE! After reading their response below, I reiterate, BEWARE, they will get you to upgrade when you are 'testing' their system and you can only do this by entering a CC number, which in order to test it properly, I did. However, after deleting the system off of where I originally accessed it in Shopify, they did not process this forward. Like I said these guys try very hard, they had a great amount of attention on customer service and they were all very good with it. But customers also need to be aware of this. Because their service and product is good, I have changed my rating to 3 stars. The company needs to understand that there are consequences for doing business in a certain way. If the company amends their practice to adjust accordingly, I'd be happy to update to 5stars.
Hi there and thank you for leaving this review to give us to opportunity to help clarify!
We're glad that we were able to refund your $2,387.00 amount immediately after you requested it be refunded. This is, of course, part of our "no questions asked" 30-day money-back guarantee we extend to all customers.
It appears the reason you paid $2,387.00 was you were utilizing your Thrive subscription and decided to enter your credit card information into our software while selecting the Professional Annual subscription (you selected the annualized option to get 2 months free). Entering your credit card and selecting the plan you did lets our system know you'd like to continue with a paid service. You are always welcome to cancel your subscription or remove your credit card from the same interface.
Please let our customer care team know if you have any other questions about our app or subscription options!
