1-Star (Wish I Could Give 0) – Deceptive Billing & Unauthorized Charges
I canceled my subscription two months ago, yet I’m still being charged
325/ month. When I signed up I picked the 39/month Business plan, but the platform automatically enabled a hidden "Volume Upgrade" option—something I never noticed or consented to. Because of this deceptive practice, I was charged over $300/month for four months before realizing what happened.
Even after canceling, the charges continue. This is predatory behavior—shame on this company for exploiting customers with sneaky auto-upgrades and ignored cancellations.
I’ve already taken action by:
Reporting to the BBB (Better Business Bureau)
Disputing all charges with American Express
Filing complaints with relevant consumer protection agencies

We're really sorry to hear about your experience and completely understand how frustrating this situation must feel.
We want to clarify that our Auto-Upgrade feature is not enabled by default— it must be manually activated. It's designed to ensure your website stays fully translated even if your word count exceeds the plan limit, and we make this clear during setup and in our documentation.
That said, we understand it can sometimes be overlooked, and we're always happy to review it and check further with our customers to see exactly what happened.
Regarding the ongoing charges, it appears that your subscription was not fully canceled, which is why billing continued.
Canceling on Shopify or uninstalling the app doesn't automatically cancel your subscription with Weglot, as billing is handled separately.
In any case, note that we processed the refund of the related charges for you.

Outstanding support experience!
Weglot’s support team (especially Manon) has been absolutely amazing. They helped me customize my translation setup down to the URL level, patiently walked me through regex exclusions, optimized my word count usage, and fixed multiple Shopify Markets issues and page visibility issues. It’s rare to get such hands-on help these days. Huge thanks to the team!
Guillaume support was exceptional today and other times as well I've received excellent support.
The app works well and whenever I had issues the team was ready to help me.
It's the worst app I've used. The website loads with no texts, then all the text appears after 3-4 seconds.
Also, I deleted the app and since I have to change my DNS a records for this tool, now my website is not working at all...
I never saw an app with a worst setup and execution. And for $32, is a rip off.

The app is easy to install and to use. Our plan got upgraded automatically once we reached the words limit, so now it is quite pricey for us. Unfortunately we're on the annual plan and can't cancel easily. We had a problem with the language switcher on mobile, but the support team was very helpful and quick in fixing it. Thanks and 5 stars for that.

Certains réglages précis pour ma boutique en ligne sont plus complexes pour mes compétences mais le support est toujours très aidant!
We could never have so many languages at such high quality translations without Weglot. And support is also really helpful, quick and nice.
