Designed by programmers who are "modern" GUI designers. Orange colors, graphics are a bit oversize and clown-like, but it does everything it claims to do very well. As an old-school programmer, once you get past the graphics it is a more useful tool than the competitors. I like the ability to create a GUI to edit metafields. Works well for me, but tough to train end-users. All and all a good app that does what it claims.

A recurring payment was authorized today when you installed, but we don't have any pending charges for your store so it does not appear that you were charged or will be charged in the future. One of the worst implementations of an import/export app I have seen. I imported 47 records and got the message that there were no errors yet none of the records were changed. Support told me there was an error in my file... If that was the case then you would think the app would be smart enough to tell you that there was a problem instead of reporting no errors. Also, beware that this doesn't import titles or descriptions - very limiting in my opinion.

We're in the process of updating the app to account for recent changes to this functionality in Shopify, including validating defined fields and properly erroring during import if invalid data is encountered.
Regarding changing titles and descriptions, this app's focus is on metafields, so that is the only data that the app will change during import.
Our file format intentionally mirrors Shopify's import/export file format for flexibility. The rationale was that merchants would use our app to manage metafields and Shopify's import to manage other data points, like titles, descriptions, etc. Our export files include extra data beyond metafields to help provide context for updating metafields in a spreadsheet. It's understandably frustrating though, if your expectation was that the app would import any data it encountered in an import file.

Excellent app that provides a good balance between being friendly for merchants whilst having many advanced features that can be explored by developers.
The Google Chrome extension is great and very easy-to-use. It's a huge plus over other metafields apps as you can make changes directly within the Shopify admin rather than being redirected to an app.
Support was also fantastic in responding to a feature request which they implemented immediately.
They bill you will your site is still in development. Not worth it to me!
I noticed that there is supposed to be a free plan available, but when I click on the app, it only shows a prominent $14 price for the Pro plan. It's quite strange that there isn’t an option for anything other than the Pro plan, especially when the free plan is advertised

Deceptive pricing is forbidden by Shopify's terms and not allowed. The plan you are referring to is labeled "Free for Development Stores". This is specific to stores that are built by Shopify Partners. Once those types of stores upgrade to paid plans in Shopify, they are asked to start paying for the app as well. Anyone can create a Partner account and free development store and many apps follow this same model to support the development ecosystem. Sorry for the confusion! Collecting customer information is not a feature of this app. The app is only for storing or displaying additional data entered by store admins.
Searching the app store for a product customization app or a custom checkout app would probably yield a better fit for your needs. Good luck with your search! :)

I've been using this app to build my Shopify eCommerce store. The app has been great for uploading additional product information. The documentation is good and customer service is fantastic!

Before I had this app I downloaded another app for metafields input and it was just so limited. This app is so much better. It can be used for different scenarios that you will come across for your website. Additionally, the support team is awesome.
The Custom Fields app is amazing! I needed a way to add tabs to break up product details and specs, and I looked at several other apps, but none of them had the simple widget interface like this does. This app’s widgets allowed me to add this functionality and more that was missing from my theme without needing to hire a developer. I had a small issue with one of the widgets not working exactly how I wanted it to, and the support team responded to me within an hour to resolve the issue. Great app and great support!
I have been using this for 6 months now and love the app. I am having issues with the size of the tab boxes though. They seem to be really slim and all the way to the right. Is there any way to make it wider? If you need more clarification, let me know. Thanks!
Sorry to hear you're having some trouble. Sometimes a theme can override the intended design of tabs and some customization is needed to correct it. Shoot us a support ticket and the team will work with you to get it sorted out on Monday. :) From the Shopify admin click on Apps in the left sidebar then next to the Custom Fields app in the list, click Get Support and let us know the details of the issue.
I recommend this app. We use it to add custom fields and dynamic content to our store. With this app we added delivery times, related products, shortened product names in breadcrumbs, added SEO descriptions to collections and blog, to blogposts we added recommendation widgets. Heck, we even send custom data to Google with using the custom fields created with this app.
I had an issues with getting my registration to work properly and they responded and fixed it within 24hours. Great service!

Shopify's system doesn't allow for apps to make changes to themes after uninstalling. This is particularly problematic for apps that use Shopify's metafields. Our app provides theme uninstall functionality, it just needs to be used before removing the app. It's not ideal, but that's our only option. Click the "disable this area" link in the theme section to undo changes the app makes. You can still utilize the uninstall functionality at this point, just reinstall the app, click the disable links, then uninstall the app again.

The best metafield editor I've tested. Only downside - it's really slow and glitchy on files of 1000 lines or more, so I have to break down my imports into multiple go's. Other than that - it's super handy.

Generally speaking, the speed of imports is severely throttled to work within Shopify's API limits for apps, making truly fast imports basically impossible without redundantly storing merchant data in our system, which we are very reluctant to do. There still may be ways to improve efficiency in the future, but we'll always have some substantial limiting factors to work around, unfortunately.
We found a lot of limitations with shopify's out of the box functionality for the product page we wanted so we have used custom fields to add lots more info to our product page. With this app you are basically able to build any product page (or any page) inclusion you could think of, and everything is still editable. Plus its easy to use and integrate and customer support is always quick to respond.
This app is really helpful, easy to use and their google chrome extension is really good which saved our time. The support team is also very helpful. They helped us to configure the app.

Overall, a great app with stellar support. The Bulk Edit scenarios work but have some caveats you will want to be aware of. But it appears to meet our needs.
I am setting up my store and at the time of writing this am going live pretty soon. I have a fulfilment email I have set up and wanted to include some of the product detail in this email. The problem was there was a lot of extra information which was unrelated to the particular product detail I wanted to include and would have made my fulfilment email twice as long and very cluttered. As you will know, on the Shopify product page you get a description box and everything has to go in this. So I needed a way to split up the information into different sections or fields. Custom Fields has worked very well for this.
One of the reasons I was attracted to Custom Fields was because of the automatic install. As I found out, not all themes are compatible though. My theme did not install automatically. Kenny in support was very quick to help and installed it for me. The support is normal office hours (not 24 hr) which I believe is a time zone in the USA.
Because it was a manual installation – it meant that if I created some fields in other sections to the one support installed, that there was a small amount of code – basically one line, that needed to be cut and paste into a liquid file – which is quite easy. It took me a while to get my head around what was going on and the files that were involved. Kenny was always helping me out so I got there. Kenny has told me that within a few weeks or so there is a new upgraded version coming out which will allow new installations to work whatever the theme.
Now (after setting up my new fields in Custom Fields) on the product page I have the original product description Shopify field, plus another 3 fields that I have generated with Custom Fields. Two of these are global, which means they apply the text fields I have set up to all my product pages simultaneously. Now when I set up a new product I can add a little info in the product description and the 2 global sections get added automatically - which saves me cutting and pasting the info in every time. Also it means that if I would like to change that information, I can do it in one place, and immediately it will update all of my product pages.
The 3rd field I have created is more specific to the type of product and describes the details for that type. This I would like to set up with fields for each different type – then when adding a new product on a product page I would link the specific field from the Custom Fields app and it will display all the details I already set up (– although I am limited to 10 fields in the free version).
I understand that this will be even quicker in the future upgrade - sometime in October 2020. My belief is that I could then have a field for each product type as before, but it could be set up to apply itself to all the product pages within a selected collection. That way every time I create a new product page, I would just have to assign the product into a collection and the appropriate custom field would display automatically on the page. I would not have to go into the Custom Field app and link up the product page to the field, it would just know this due to the product being in a certain collection and therefore be even more automated.
I am just using simple text fields here, and there are many other fields and other functionality available so I have only scratched the surface.
One thing to say on the free version is that there is a list-field that you can use and the help section gives you the impression you can use this to display bulled text lists. To let you know – this is not the case – you cannot create a bullet style list, but does allow drop down lists for selections or via radio buttons etc. If you have the next version up then you are able to create lists and more.
So yes this works very well for me, I am very pleased. It has given me the ability to split up information into specific sections. It has allowed a lot of automation and an easy way to change information that is displayed on multiple pages. The support has been very good and I am looking forward to the new upgrade. I am using the free version at this time and it gives me what I need for the moment with some added bonuses I have discovered.
I have looked briefly at some other similar apps and this does seem to be one of the best if not the best.
I think the Custom Fields people are helping Shopify users out with this free version offering some great functionality and then as in my case as I get my store going and hopefully be profitable, then I can look at how to improve my store. With Custom Fields it is already installed so I am likely to go for the upgrade. It's a win win.

5 Stars all the way. What a fantastic app. Im not much of a "techy" and support has been incredibly helpful with the very specific customizations i wanted to add. They guided me through manually installing some code to get a bullet list to appear below my add to cart. Then directed me to some detailed, easy to follow CSS guides to style the Bullets to match the rest of my site. I cannot imagine the possibilities available to someone with just a hint of coding experience. This app could easily remove the need for countless others. I HIGHLY recommend you try out Custom Fields

Custom fields are a necessity with Shopify and this app lets you handle them superbly. Its ability to import and export large amounts of data is fantastic. I don't know what I would have done without it.

I use the free version of this app on my small store and just having the additional text fields has made such a positive difference to the layout and my stores potential. I thought I only wanted to add one additional field but now that I have the option to add multiple, I find myself making new creative spaces every day.

Dang!!! Powerful stuff .Although I've only used it for a several days I think it's fantastic. Hope to really make use of it with our store design being able to store & display more information . I have not contacted customer service yet(had no issues) so i can't comment on their level of service.

I wanted my product pages to have the same look and feel. I required some custom fields below the description area which I could easily populate as admin. The result being a similar experience for the user in the design but with different data added by admin. I tried a number of apps first before stumbling on this one. As I'm not familiar with building e-commerce sites or shopify it's been a steep learning curve.
