After 5 years of using the Pinterest App through Shopify, feeding my products as shoppable pins and being an approved Merchant, Pinterest has kicked out every single seller of vintage or antique goods except for the big marketplaces.
Virker ikke - Og support er ikke til at få fat i og kan på ingen måder hjælpe mig i gang. Håbløst at starte op her.
Could be great but currently a total fail. Instead of using your featured product image for the pin, Pinterest chooses the image with an algorithm. Why? The result is a set of random pins and size variations that look like a mess. Solution: STOP USING THE ALGORITHM. Just pin the featured images the store owners have created specifically to show off their product. Hard to imagine this was approved by Shopify management.
Whether Pinterest approves your account seems to be run by bots. I got an email saying that my business was not approved because: "Merchant is an affiliate or resale marketplace". I'm not an affiliate. I do sell second hand goods, but I'm not a marketplace? Perhaps it is just badly worded. But a proper explanation would be nice. I tried to appeal but just got the same automated reply back. As always, no humans to help.
This app is useless for anyone who deals in secondhand wares, vintage or resell. Per Pinterest Merchant guidelines (and their Verified Merchant Program team) the secondhand nature of products makes sellers ineligible for using the program, and the catalog will not be automatically published to pinterest. If you sell any secondhand (or anything that doesn't align with their updated guidelines) don't waste your time with this app.
I sell used clothing. During the shopping review, I was not approved as a seller because I was considered a reseller and not a brand original product. If it had been more clearly stated, I would not have had to set up and wait two days for the review results, and I would not have downloaded it in the first place.
we shouldn't have to put a payment option at the beginning of setting up the connection between our shopify and our pinterest.....NO OTHER platform does this! We would love to connect our online store to our pinterest, but NOT If you are needing payment information up front. .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
There is a bug or something wrong with this app. I have been trying to connect my shop with pinterest. However it is a continuous cycle of going to connecting the page to logging in, back to connecting. It NEVER connects. I cleared cache & cookies, tried a different browser, restarted my browser, uninstalled/reinstalled the app. Nothing works. Shopify tried their best to help, however this is on pinterests end. I contacted pinterest however, they basically told me to do everything I already did. I guess I will just uninstall this app and not sell on pinterest.
The app is pulling the wrong URL. Shopify uses the Product Handle in the URL, but this app is pulling the Product ID instead. With the Product ID in the URL, it creates a 404 Page Not Found error, which cascades into multiple other errors. You need to modify your app to pull the correct Product Handle URL:
Shopify uses the Product Handle: {{ all_products['the-handle'].title }} I tried to work around this by adding URL redirects. However, the problem is that when you pull URLs by Product ID, it is only limited to 20 products at a time. Since I have over 50 products, half of my products are never pulled. I contacted Pinterest Support, but they give me the run around. When there are cascading error reports (caused by the wrong URL creating a 404 Page Not Found error), they want me to address those secondary errors. It won't help. Please fix your appl.
