Feedback we would like escalated to your product team

We want to be direct about how this reached us, because we think it is a design problem rather than a mistake on either side.

Enabling Flex is a migration, and the app does not present it as one. It replaces the fulfillment location, leaves Sync permissions unapproved, and requires a Rate Card that exists nowhere in Shopify — three separate setup steps, none of them obvious. In the interface it reads as a tab you can look at, not a change that reconfigures how the store fulfils orders.

There was no warning at the point of enabling. No confirmation step, no summary of what would change, no list of what had to be set up afterwards. We would ask you to open the app yourself and look at how this is presented — from the merchant's side it is genuinely unclear that clicking through commits you to anything.

And once enabled but unconfigured, nothing in the app said so. ByteStand continued to report as connected and healthy. There was no banner, no incomplete-setup state, no error. The only visible symptom was in Shopify, days later, and it took us fifteen days to trace it back to your app.

What that cost us: fifteen days with no order reaching Amazon, twelve consecutive days in which not a single customer could complete checkout, twelve orders created by hand in Seller Central by our customer service team, and customers left without tracking information. We found it because a customer complained — not because any system told us.

On the 2025 emails: we understand they were sent, and we do not doubt it. But an email campaign from eighteen months ago is not a safeguard. The person who received it may no longer be at the company — that is exactly our situation — and the setting remained one click away for whoever came next, with no warning attached to it.

What we would ask for:

A confirmation step when Flex is enabled, stating plainly that it is an upgrade, what it changes, and what must be configured before fulfillment resumes.
A persistent in-app warning while Flex is enabled and setup is incomplete.
Alerting when inventory sync stops or order submission fails.

We are glad to be running again and your support today was genuinely excellent. We are raising this because the next merchant to click that button will lose the same two weeks, and they may not catch it as quickly as we did.

Thanks,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate the opportunity we've had to support your stores over the years, and we're glad we were able to resolve this issue quickly once it was brought to our attention.

In this case, the issue was related to the optional Flex workflow, which requires additional configuration after it is enabled. We understand your feedback that this process could be communicated more clearly inside the app, we've shared your suggestions with our product team, and a plan has been created to improve the Flex onboarding experience.

We also appreciate your recognition of our support. Our goal is always to diagnose issues quickly and work directly with merchants in order to get them fulfilling orders as fast as possible, and we're happy we were able to identify the issue and resolve all points the same day you contacted our support team.
