This app is the worst. I'm writing this so drained after another glitch in the app has caused a text to go out at the completely wrong time which will probably result in so many unsubscribes and customer issues. I've given this app so many changes and I'm just done. Definitely switching to a different SMS provider this week. If you have the chance to do that from the beginning, do it and avoid the headache from SMS Bump. UPDATE: I just want to make sure that people know that in addition to the app being useless, the creators are dishonest. The response to this review says that they can already see someone has reached out to me since leaving this review regarding my issues??? NO ONE from this app has sent me a single message since I left this review. They must just automatically say that in all review responses to save face in front of other Shopify users. No integrity at all.

I used the app not as marketing tool to contact customers, but to notify staff/admin via SMS of new orders. No intent at all to contact customers. To activate the app, they need to manually verify your site to see if the GDPR notes have been added on your site. That’s quite good- if you were going to contact customers in the first place.
I couldn’t activate it because support (Angelica) said the app is mainly used to contact customers, and therefore I needed to make changes to my site for GDPR compliance (eg, opt-in, privacy, etc). I tried to explain that I do not plan to use it at all to contact customers. Further, I specifically do not want to add those language on my site because I don’t want to mislead my customers into thinking that I would actually contact them for marketing purposes.
The support person kept going in circles about the app being mainly used for marketing, and I kept trying to explain that I would only use the notification for admin alert to process orders. They do have that functionality to alert the admin only, so why are they asking me to also use it to contact the customers when I don’t want to use it in that way?? It was so weird how they basically force you how to use the app, and that you cant use the app for internal SMS notifications only. Even if they have that functionality.
Until now I’m still baffled.

My campaign wouldn't send. This was after I had to deposit money to send them. My account balance showed I was charged, couldn't find analytics or metrics on the campaign anywhere. Finally reached out to support and was told it didn't send.
Now I have to wait and hope my deposit is refunded.

I am not someone who leaves reviews very often, especially negative however this companies "support" is the worst I have come across from a software business.
I have it setup so customers receive a discount code upon signing up with an email, the customer has never received any email / discount. On the 3rd attempt of contacting support I was told to follow some steps, I did them.
On the 4th time I was told it was not working because ' servers are busy, the email will arrive to your customer later'.
On the 5th time I am told my email has to be verified in the system - why did the previous 4 support agents not tell me this?
To date I have had an "escalated" support ticket open for about 12 days.
After 7 days of the support ticket being open and me already verifying my email a few days prior, I am once again asked to verify the email.
5 days since the last reply, still no response and the software still isn't working.
Customer service is absolutely unresponsive. They put a banner ad up that prevents the ability to log in and, after at least 5 times attempting to contact them over a 2 week span, they never once responded. I have been using SMSBUMP for 5 years so the app is ok when it works. But, if the app breaks, good luck getting hold of someone to help you out.

These guys are scamming people. Their old plan is no longer there in the current list and has almost same features as the new 19$ plan but they keep on charging 35$ for it. The important thing to keep a note of: When you try to load credit into the app for the first time, they would try trick you to upgrade to pay 34.99$ for a plan (when it doesn't even exist). I was trying loading 20$ and assumed I was agreeing to pay 20$. But 11 months later I was paying 35$ all these months. This difference is small compared to their bigger monthly bills that include sms charges, so it went unnoticed. When asked about why would they ask for 34.99$ plan even now (I tried their app on another store recently and it happened again but luckily I caught it), they had no answer. This guy Chris was like plain unacknowledging of the fact that there was anything wrong at all and couldn't answer. BEWARE !

This app is BROKEN 100%.
1. They sent abandoned cart emails with discounts to customers who DIDN'T ABANDON A CART, THESE CUSTOMERS JUST PURCHASED AND ITEM AND THIS APP SENT A DISCOUNT TO THEM AFTER THEY PURCHASED THE ITEM! HOW AWFUL IS THAT GOING TO MAKE OUR CUSTOMER FEEL?
2. They didn't send abandoned cart emails to customers who actually abandoned the carts. Their support team said the customers need to opt in twice or the app can't send abandoned cart emails. They don't work when Shopify triggers abandoned cart events like usual marketing apps do.
IF YOU HAVE CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE ALREADY SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR EMAILS OR ALREADY PURCHASED SOMETHING FROM YOU, THIS APP WON'T SEND ABANDONED CART RECOVERY EMAILS TO THESE CUSTOMERS.
Even previous customers add items to their cart and abandon the cart, but this app doesn't send emails to these types of abandoned carts.
The worst thing is the customers who have already subscribed to emails should click the 'send offers via email' option in checkout for this app to send abandoned cart emails!!! WHO'S GOING TO OPT IN TWICE AND SAY PLEASE SEND ME ABANDONED CART RECOVERY EMAILS??? WHAT'S THIS LOGIC??
3. The email editor doesn't work with high-res displays (they are so common these days). Customer support told me to change my whole laptop's resolutions to a lower value so I could use this one single broken app, when I did it all the apps on my laptop looked stretched and weird. What kind of solution is this?
4. AWFUL CUSTOMER SUPPORT. They will give you stupid solutions just to make their app work, and they treat you like garbage.
SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR CUSTOMERS' TRUST AND LOSE SALES. SHOPIFY SHOULD BAN THIS APP. I'LL WRITE A MESSAGE TO SHOPIFY AS WELL MENTIONING THE DAMAGE THIS APP DOES.

If the end-customer is not signed in, there is a need to fill out the email address to trigger the flow. This app fraudulently charged my account. I have not used it at all and I've been charged 4 $10 charges all on the same day even though I clearly have no activity shown. I will remove this once they have reversed the charges. Very unhappy.
I am going to be so furious if the message I just spent 2 hours on after I figured how to do it, has just vanished! I pressed test to have it sent and it is gone. I think it is just playing with me.. we save drafts for everything... I'm not even a tekki and I know that, and I know this was not created without a save for newbies to just loose everything. With a deadline in the morning. It is late and I have to redo this now... Nah. Not good.

Horrible, messages don't send. Customer support literally ignores you when you have a problem. There are better SMS apps there, like PostScript, for example. Imagine having an issue and no one cares to help you solve it, while you're paying them.
