Applied for a demo, installed it but it did not work for me. In particular when wholesale customers were logged in. So I mailed the developer to see if there were known issues with wholesale apps. The reply was very rude and basicly said the app was perfect so it could not be. No effort at all into searching what it could be. It might be a good app if it works, but not paying for a customer service like that.

It's ok if you only do VAT deduction and your sales strategy is ok with having different total price for every EU member state. So, If you run EU wide advertising (for example finalprice on product X is 19.99 across EU states) then this app will not work as it will require the shopify option "calculate tyxes based on customer location" to be enabled. And that makes it impossible to have the same price with VAT, as it will always be calculated based on the price without your store's location VAT and then VAT will be added on top for every market in OSS system. So 19.99 will be 21.30 or 17.56 in some coutnries... After reply from support this is not a feature they'd care about.

Works great! Had a small trouble with VAT prices update somewhere on our theme but the support was really fast and got it working no-time!! Thank you!

Concept of the app is great but unfortunately prices in Shopify must be net of VAT. If this had an option to deduct VAT from the price rather than only add VAT then it would have been fantastic. If you are in the EU and your prices are already net then this is great.

Exemptify allows us to manage EU VAT in Shopify.

Exemptify just checks if the VAT-ID exists.

In Germany the law says that the verification has to be done "with the diligence of a prudent businessman". Many sources on the web as well as our tax advisor state that only the "qualified validation" which also verifies the address meets this requirement. Consequently in case of an audit any merchant just checking the existence of the VAT-ID likely will have to pay VAT for any purchases with a (valid) VAT grabbed from the net where the address does not match the buyer's.

I'd happily update this review if anything I stated is not accurate.

Installed this app yesterday on our site www.winchshop.co.uk, had quite a few problems with integration due to theme we were using, contacted Thorsten from extensions@modules4u.biz and he has done a 5* service sorting all the problems, would recommend as a great addition to your site.

5 stars because of the excellent support! The app works very well and does its job. I had troubles with importing the customers VAT to our invoice system, but Exemptify Support respondend fast and helped with all issues!

This app is essential to any shopify store in the EU...

Also, now this app can display the ex vat price in a smaller font. For me this was the most important update, and very happy to see it implemented.
