Shopify Flow is a powerful and practical tool once you get the hang of it. The automation features are useful. Once flows are properly set up, they trigger reliably and help save a lot of manual work.
That said, the app can be a bit sluggish at times. It takes a while to load all the flows, and navigating through larger or more complex workflows can feel slow. But despite that, it's definitely a valuable addition to our Shopify toolkit.
I still can’t believe Shopify Flow is completely free. It’s a powerful, intuitive, and beautifully integrated tool that feels like it should cost hundreds per month. After wasting far too much time and energy with Klaviyo — which I found clunky, overly complicated, and painfully slow — switching to Flow felt like a breath of fresh air.
With Flow, I can easily automate tasks that used to be a nightmare: sending targeted emails based on customer segments, tagging VIP clients, flagging suspicious orders, managing internal alerts… all with just a few clicks and no coding required.
It’s fast. It’s reliable. It works. Unlike Klaviyo, which constantly felt like a battle against the tool itself, Flow lets you focus on growing your business, not troubleshooting bugs or getting lost in a jungle of confusing settings.
Free. Integrated. Powerful. This is a true game changer.
Highly recommended.
It was very easy to edit and I loved the set up for the email content did not need to change much, having my brand colours already there. Each step of the way was easy and I am no tech person.
Thanks for the review, we really appreciate it.
Overall game-changer in terms of operational flexibility. We wouldn't be able to run our business without it. Would LOVE to be able to duplicate blocks within a flow, but that's my only gripe!
I like the fact that the necessary emails are set to automatically go out when they're supposed to. I don't have to think about it first, then schedule each one individually.
I would love 3 things, easier to assign testing orders/products/customers. And 2, the ability to deactivate conditions, actions, or whole parts of the tree. Also - better documentation in the shopify MCF for LLMs
very smooth to use, and has great functionality, only draw back is slight glitches when an error is found, have to reset the flow.
Shopify itself puts out bad templates that do not work and their support is not able to help. They also do not keep the app developers up to date about what triggers to use so their templates are out of date. If you guys would own up to putting out bad templates and correct them I would consider changing my rating.
I appreciate what Shopify Flow tries to do — automating workflows and saving time on routine tasks is definitely valuable. The app is intuitive and integrates well within the Shopify admin. However, there are some limitations that can get frustrating.
For example, it can’t interact with certain areas like shipping profiles or some inventory settings, which means you still end up doing manual work for key parts of your store. Also, complex workflows sometimes require trial and error to get right, and the documentation could be clearer.
Overall, Flow is a helpful starting point for automation if you have straightforward tasks, but it feels like it could be more powerful and flexible, especially for stores with more complex needs.
It’s best suited for automations within Shopify’s exposed API limits.
If you rely on automating less common or “hidden” features, Flow won’t cover it yet.
For simple order, customer, or product tag automations, it’s worth trying.
Thanks for your review.
We try to expose everything that's available in the Admin API, have you tried using the Send Admin API request action (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shopify-flow/reference/actions/send-admin-api-request)for your more complex use cases such as shipping profiles or some inventory settings?
Excellent marketing tool for automating with external APsI. However, to avoid potential frustrations, be aware that Flow currently does not support all of Shopify's API endpoints.
