So I have been using the original google shopping app for long time and without any issues and last few months, I was told that the app I'm using will be discontinued (maybe end of january?). Was told that the original app had too many issues so that is why they are moving to this app. But seems this app has more issues then the previous one and the reason why the first one has issues is that many shopifiers using the app does not know how to bulk edit to comply with google standards. And also talking with google, they are able to override certain errors that show up on shopify. So this clearly unfair to take away the old app for customers who know how to workaround it . I carry roughly 350k items so if it's been working for me for few years then it has to be mostly user error and not the app. I have so many items that percentage of error is higher then most , but mangaed to get it too work. So this review is basically stating to keep the old shopify app. It's quite unfair to just abandon something that was working because so many were not able to workaround the issues and just give up.
It would be fine if it didn't always feed the highest shipping price through to google. Mentioned this to shopify but they didn't seem concerned and told me to look for another app.

While the Google Shopping app does use the highest shipping price to the Google Merchant Center, you do have the option to select Manual Shipping Settings. I think this would be a good choice for you, since we don't import any shipping data at this point and you have the chance to set up your data directly in the Google Merchant Center!

So this app doesnt work. I have recharged my account with 1000 bucks... how will i get a refund? My products havnt be synced from last 5 days
Got suspended for misrepresentation, did ntohing wrong though. This app sucks unless your goal is to get suspended

Very sad to see this app not be everything we wished for. The app caused our Google Merchant account and Google Ads account both to be suspended and we just can't get it back cause a lot of issues and we are loosing lots of business due to this. Very disappointing and main issues are due to the information not being transferred over to Google from Shopify in the right manner which causes google to think you are fraud due to missing information... Talked to lots of experts and they all say its because of the Google App on Shopify its very disappointing. Would not recommend it.

Tragic app, previous version was much better
I had another easy-to-use app. I wanted better but... this app is very annoying to use. To much things to made before use ! ! ! only for persistent and patient users ! ! !

Just after installation, account suspended for misrepresentation. Now 14 days in and repeated calls with promises of call back .... still nothing and our competitors now have a serious edge =(.

Unfortunately we do not have control over Google's policies, and how they interpret suspensions such as these. If you use 3rd party product feed this will brake it.
If you think it will simplify GA4 and google ads Tag it will not, if you using other app for your product feed. It will install and link GA4 but to install and link google ads tag YOU need to use there feed! there is no option in the app NOT to send feed, there is no option in merchant centre to choose your feed either. So once you disconnect on this app from merchant centre it will disconnect and delete google ads Tags as well.
SO if you use other app for you product feed and thinking about simplifying tags this will not work in fact this will override and brake your feed. Customer support will just paly ping pong among 'departments' and will close your case after about 2nd caned response.
Ogh and be careful with Performance Max campaigns will throttle your ads to click farms.
Edit: apparently this app stopped 'purchase' tracking after 1/Jul. so NO you can't even import conversions from GA4 to ads. And yes i'm being bounced around google departments again. At this point its just funny how bad things are. Before thinking about monetarization could you google folks just create APP that sorts tags out???!!! Its BASIC and most important first step to connect to you! And yet its in absolute shambles

Just to clarify, GA4 tagging and free listings / ads conversion tracking are two separate tag mechanisms for setting up conversion tracking. You do not need to connect your Merchant Center account to the Google & YouTube app to set up your GA4 tagging or to track conversions through GA4.
If you’d like to track conversions through GA4, once you’ve connect your GA4 account / property to the Google & YouTube app, follow these steps [https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/10632359?hl=en] to import conversions to ads.
If you delete the Google & YouTube app, only tags set up through the app will be deleted and can be set up again if you reinstall / connect.
