I really want to like this app but there are so many things wrong with it. 1. I cannot choose the video I want for my hero video. 2. Hero products video doesn't work. 3. I cant choose thumbnail for loop clips. 4. when I select auto play for loop clips, only 1 video plays on auto, some do too but all of them dont and most of them dont autoplay 100% of the time. 5. I cant choose the order of the stories. 6. none of the customizations really work for loop clips, let alone the other features. 7. the user interface is soooo bad, its pretty but simple things on the UX require work arounds just to make the website functional. 8. and the BIGGEST one of all, which I think is deceptive is that the media you upload goes to all the widgets - meaning what you use for stories, get played as the hero, the product gallery - you cannot specifically select content for specific widgets. thats ridiculous! Things will appear to work on sauce dashboard but on the actual site, it will not work. really unfortunate, how you guys can fix asap.
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. It sounds like you’ve encountered a range of frustrations, and I’d like to address your concerns directly while offering solutions that we can assist with further via our help channels. We’d also be delighted for you to take up a 1:1 Zoom call that can help to walk you through any specific issues and ensure you’re getting the best out of Sauce.
It probably feels like we’ve let you down, and it's frustrating that things aren’t working the way you expected. You might even feel like we’re not listening or that we’re not taking your concerns seriously. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably feel exactly the same way. So, hoping you don't mind me taking a small step towards breaking this down and working through each point to make sure we can address everything and get you back on track.
1. Hero Video Selection:
Our 'Media Display Rules' allow you to filter selections by custom hashtags and sort by engagement, recency, or sales potential. You can also drag and drop videos in the by clicking on the 'Edit Positions' button. If this isn’t functioning as expected, please let us know so we can assist you.
2. Hero Product Videos:
These videos are linked to specific products and display on Product Display Pages when a tagged video exists. If a product doesn’t show a Hero Product Video, it may not have an associated video. We can help you set this up using Shopify 2.0 App Blocks or toggling the 'Sauce Hero Product Videos' 'App Embed' to 'On'.
3. Loop Clips and Thumbnails:
Loop clips are designed for continuous playback without thumbnails. If you have specific needs regarding thumbnails, we’d like to understand them better to explore potential updates.
4. Autoplay Issues:
On desktop, autoplay should function for all videos. On mobile, only one video plays at a time to optimise bandwidth and user experience. If desktop autoplay isn’t working correctly, we can investigate this further.
5. Story Media Order:
You can customise media sorting using the sort icon. If this feature isn’t working, please provide a screenshot so we can identify and resolve the issue.
6. Customisation Challenges:
We’d appreciate details on which customisation options aren’t meeting your expectations. Sharing this information will help us address your concerns effectively.
7. User Experience (UX):
Your feedback on UX is valuable. If there are specific pain points or functionality gaps, please share them with us. We’re committed to refining the interface to balance simplicity with robust features.
8. Content Across Widgets:
Our media library syndicates content across all surfaces to save time. However, Media Display Rules allow you to refine what appears where. For example, you can use hashtag filters to curate content for specific widgets or apply pre-set rules to only show User Generated Content for example. We’d be happy to show you how to make the most of this feature.
I also want to mention that we’ve reached out via our support channel on two separate occasions to set up a call but haven’t received a response back. Please perhaps, kindly consider responding to our messages so we can connect and assist you directly. We’re totally here to help you get the most out of Sauce and ensure it works seamlessly for your needs.
Thank you so much for your patience and for giving us the chance to learn and do better for you.
I have asked multiple times for my account to be closed! There is no option for closing an account yourself on the website. No one gets back to me. Don’t install this unless you can afford it!!!
I will also be contacting Shopify to let them know about not being able to cancel a subscription with this mob.
If I could give zero stars I would.
Its ridiculous the amount you are now charging a month for this. It used to be free. That is quite the jump. And there is basically no free option once you use 50 tags. VERY disapointed.
Poor support. No one is available on chat since morning. I have presale inquiry but snapppt team not showing any interest
I'm actually surprised by all the good reviews because Snapppt has no real technical support only Automatic Bots and very little self-help literature and tiny small videos that does not actually show how to use the app with your shopify store. So are these Good Reviews Legitimate. I don't think so. At least have Tutorials. Snapppt should check out Shopify Academy on how to educate in a User Friendly way instead of depending on useless bots and inadequate no-info website.
No help provided, very difficult to use
Was a nice app until the developer got greedy and decided to remove the multiple tags on hundreds of products that were already tagged for 2 or 3 products on my feed to push a $29 per month option for more than one tag. He gave no warning and I just happened to be updating my feed last night to wake up this morning to many tags removed.
Also there are annoying pop ups every single time you try to edit. Not worth it and removing. He gives no support whatsoever and you will not be able to delete your account since they never respond. There are way better apps out there for less that do the same thing and has support.
The app caused issues on my website. I contacted the support team, they asked me to send staff account invitation. After I sent it they ignored my messages. It has been one week after the issue occurred but nothing was solved. The worst app support I’ve been experiencing so far from Shopify!
The app installed easy, but it has not worked as it was advertised. I have been working with it for weeks on my own, because I reached out to their support and they sent me generic installation instructions and totally ignored my issues. I sent another support request and they never even responded. I worked with Shopify support and they gave it their best effort, but the app still doesn't work. I do not recommend this app.
I really do not like to write bad reviews but this one is major and important to report. We us the Impulse Theme bought in the official shopify store. There is a major issue when we implement the code snipped for the product page to show the instagram posts on the product page. After implementing there are a view major issues:
1. The loading time (site speed) of the site is has become not usable (also checked with google site speed where the ranking dropped from over 90 points to poor 20.
2. The script also has an influence on collection (category pages) - here the site speed is even worse - close to not usable any more.
If we look in the code of the implemented script it is also clear why this happens. There are over 25.000 lines of javascript written...
And the worst at the end: The script somehow blocked some pictures in our shop (logo, product pictures etc.). They appear as blank picots now - you can solve this by uncaching the site but a normal user does not know this.
I think the implementation of the other functions are great but this is a major blocker which should be resolved ASAP. Also i think loading a 25K javascript file is a bad practice at all.
