Plug in Speed ‑ Maximize Speed

Really enjoy this app, works great to optimise images, with very little interaction. Also, provides ability to roll back any changes you may not be happy with, and also allows side by side comparison of unchanged / changed.

We have had a great experience with Plug in Speed. It was super easy to install and it just works in the background without us having to get involved but we are seeing the improvements- my type of plug in!

Not really impressed. day 3 of the free trial, it won't work and show me my dashboard. It's still saying it's optimising my images which should not take 3 days to do. I have emailed and no reply and I have sent two support requests via Shopify which resulted in 2 automatic responses.

I should not have to leave a bad review to try and get a response. All I want to know is if this is going to work or if my money will be better spent elsewhere.

The app is super simple to use. I always like super simple but the main issue for me was that it didn't really do anything for my store. I measured my site speed using a couple of tools before installing the app, and then measured again once the app had finished completing the optimizations and the needle hardly moved. The app developer reached out to me to say they will look into it to see if something custom can be done but this was taking time so I decided to delete the app as I didn't want to pay for something that didn't work.

It is an expensive app at $50 CAD per month each month but I can get over the price if I get some quality results. But this wasn't the case for me. Maybe it will work for you.

We downloaded this app to help decrease our page load times. After running the Google mobile speed test our website was ranking slow which directly impacts search rankings. One of the tips the Google report recommended was optimizing our code and CSS files, along with optimizing images. This app does both so it seemed like a perfect solution! Right off the bat our page load times decreased and we were ranking higher than our competitors sites. This is a HUGE advantage for us and we owe it all to this app!

Further, I contacted the support team later in the evening, not expecting a response until morning. Not only did they get back to me within minutes, they answered all of my questions right away! I could not be more impressed! I would give this team 10 stars if I could.

We tried this app to speed up our store. Installing the app was simple and required just a bit of time waiting while the Plug In Speed servers optimised the scripts and styling files contained on our site. Once installed, our page was working as expected without any glitches. However, we decided we don't need the app at this time and uninstalled it. Due to the limitations of the Shopify platform, some files/code was still remaining from the installation process. This is not a fault of Plug In Speed, however, as I have seen this happen with other apps as well. Daniel from the support team was quick and ready to help in cleaning up our installation, even though we weren't an active customer. Awesome service, I would recommend your app to other Shopify users and will remember you for the future!

I'm going to give this app a 5-star even though I removed it.
The reason I removed it is my theme was already well optimized. The developer spent considerable time analyzing why the app didn't do much of anything for my store... and it was because I already have strategically optimized code.

NOT THAT my store is perfect... it's just the way this app does things was not going to help my site.

I think the concept of how the dev is approaching this is smart. And for some themes, it will help.
I gave the 5-star because the developer is a pro and that says a lot to me.

I used the app to speed the site up as we were having loading issues. It worked a treat to optimise the images, and was very easy to use. Plus, i'd had a recurring issue with the site that was unrelated to why i'd downloaded the app, yet when i mentioned it to their support people they were so helpful. They went out of their way to give me a very in depth explanation as to what needed to be done to fix the issue which i went to my developer with. Very Very Happy

I installed this app to increase site speed and also for google, it did some good stuff for my site and got a performance increase, It won't solve all your problems but its a great start. I was paying for a seperate image optimizer, but this is included here as well as other optimizations so all in all worth the money.
