For the past four days, gift card emails have simply not been delivered. Customers purchased gift cards and never received their codes. At first, we were manually forwarding codes to our own email to resend them ourselves. Now even that doesn’t work.
Support kept asking about domain configuration — which has been set up and working for 3 years. Their own dashboard shows the domain as configured and enabled. Still, test emails return errors.
The most frustrating part? Delays. Multiple follow-ups with “Hi, any update?” while customers are waiting for gift codes they paid for. As a store owner, this puts us in a very embarrassing and stressful position.
Email delivery randomly stops and there’s no solution or fallback system.
If your store depends on reliable gift card delivery, be very careful. When it works, it’s fine. When it breaks, you’re on your own.
We responded to the support issue and ultimately solved the domain configuration issue. The expectation that we would respond within minutes on the weekend is not realistic for a small team. Once we solved things, we reached out to confirm and see if any further assistance was needed and never got another response from the customer.
