Made the change over from mailchimp, not bad so far. Hopefully more custom template designs for seasonal holidays are in the works like the cool new black friday ones!

Charlotte here from Shopify Support. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
At the moment, there is an option for adding social media icons to the footer of your emails, as well as button options to add to the body of the email which can link to your social media pages.
I'm going to follow up with you with an email, to open up the lines of communication here, in case you had a different kind of social media button in mind so I can provide your feedback to my team.
