I love the email campaigns (although I wish they were prettier). However, the SMS feature should've gone through more rounds of testing before being shared with the public. I've been using a 3rd party text application for two years. When Shopify announced their messaging platform, I was elated because I could keep everything in one place. Well, my happiness quickly flatlined after being approved for messaging and sending my first message to a test group of 8 subscribers. The message took about 13 HOURS to completely send TO 8 SUBSCRIBERS. I was mortified and decided to test my entire sms list (imported from my 3rd party application). The message was time-sensitive. All of my messages are because my store is open once a month for 24 hours. The message had only been delivered to 30 of the near 5000 subscribers by 10 AM the NEXT day after sending it. By noon, it had only been sent to 94 of them. I ended up canceling the second message and have officially deemed the SMS feature USELESS. So much work needs to be completed before giving stores access to this feature. With my 3rd party app, my messages (all of them) are delivered within 1-4 minutes of sending them. I understand Shopify wants everything in-house (because I would love that), but some things just aren't working well enough yet and should be left to the pros until it's ready. It's unfair to the shop owners to get their hopes up and present something so wonky. It's not the well-oiled machines I'm used to dealing with in Shopify.

It's simple and fairly versatile. One thing that would make it 5 stars for me would be to make it easy to convert the newsletter into a blogpost to have on the website

Easy to segment customers, use and build email templates - works best when combined with designs from canva or other design tool. Once design elements are finished can build an email in minutes.

Reporting very helpful. Much more cost effective than sending from other bespoke email platforms.

Very limited. Shopify has decided to restrict how many sections you can include in an email, as well as how many test emails you can send to check that everything is working properly.

It is also incredibly limited when it comes to design features and settings. For example, button height is pre-set and cannot be changed, spacing between text lines cannot be adjusted, and there are limited options for fine-tuning the overall layout.

Doesn't work. Says my toll free number request was rejected, click to fix errors, none shown but I added more info, and then re-submit but no way to re-submit, no re-submit button. Dead end. Program not functional.

Very basic app. Can only design the marketing messages from availble pre set template which are basic and looks outdated. Cannot even use own code and make it more appealing or interesting

Love it. Being able to setup automated emails allows me to set it and forget it. Thank you for making my life easier. I wish there was a way to setup remiders. ex. a cutomer buys flowers for their daughter on her birthday, we then set a reminder to send an email every year on their daughter's birthday. :)

It has been much better now that I understand certain flows must be built in Messaging and some in Flow (the ones with logic). I had to seek support to figure this out. Love how it works now though.

We made the decision to drop another mailer service to save money. The renewal was going to be $3,300 for the year and the size of our mailing list and level of use. We only send 4-6 emails a month and decided even though our first experience was not stellar when it first rolled out, that maybe it had improved. We are thrilled with the ease of use, response and cost even more! All the links and pictures are here, no need to retrieve them and all our information from each email is easy to find and see the direct results. We are very pleased to say the least!

Content calendar is amazing. SMS and emailing for small business made easy. It's user-friendly and I have noticed several improvements recently to email templates and automation creation. If you are an SB, this is a great starting point!
