I have only used it for email marketing and I really like the tool. My only complaint is that you can't choose multiple segments when sending an email campaign. So if you want to send an email to more than one segment, you have to duplicate the email and send individually for each segment. Hoping this gets fixed soon! Otherwise, highly recommend.
Good app for basic email campaigns but customer segmentation needs work. We tried to create a country specific segment and noticed that the list contained many other countries and in some cases, customers whose names contained the same two letters as a country code. Main issue seems to be the rule used to create a segmented list uses the word CONTAIN rather than IS. Spent 2 hours trying to use the AI helper and another 30 minutes on with Shopify rep trying to find a work around, but no luck. Rep said he would pass on the concern of using 'contain' rather than 'is' when creating specific customer segments, to the development team. We will have to wait and see if this improves.
Really good on the email side. We send ~40k+ emails with ~40% open rates. We'd love to see better editing tools and more modern templates (Canva integration?!). Otherwise pretty great app. Five(ish) out of five stars.
Except, we discovered that SMS isn't viable for any of our product or event marketing.
Not because of the content (we advertise cheese tastings in-store, for instance). It's because our name includes one of their prohibited terms. That's ridiculous for this era of content moderation tools..
For instance, our name is Wine Dispensary and because our name contains the word wine and the word dispensary, we cannot send ANY marketing content via SMS.
This is a very powerful tool, easy to use and customise, integrates with the shopify flow app really well, making automations a snap to set up. A great range of email templates to get started with, awesome shop communication tool .. I'm loving it.
Not as dynamic for editing as a Klaviyo. Would love ability to preserve colors when in dark mode. HUGE limitation of Shopify Messaging. Analytics are fairly basic, would like to see deeper insights into engagement with emails and SMS.
This is a great e-mail marketing tool. The only things I would improve on this are adding more section options to make better designed emails, and more importantly, allowing more than 25 sections per e-mail. Not often, but sometimes we have to custom create a section by combining multiple elements, but with the 25 section limit, we can't put everything in that we want to.
It is very flexible and powerful. There's no trouble sending out over 10,000 emails per month. Batches of 5,000 emails don't have to be staggered over a time period.
I would like to see more control over the graphics in the body of the email.
I really like the analysis that the app shows about the success of each email. (Open, click, bounce, purchase, unregister, etc.)
i am saving so much money switching from other apps to messaging- my open rates have improved dramatically, too- make the switch!
the app suppresses email customers without providing access to looking up reasons a customer is suppressed, extremely frustrating when customers with valid email addresses are not receiving email. I have spent over a day trying to get a quality solution form shopify on how to address this issue. The information is available in SHOPIFY but they do not make it accessible to report on to resolve.
eg. segment of 850 subscribed customers, messaging only sends 775, 75 excluded most bocked but not reason accessible to understand why. We know valid email addresses have been suppressed.
Support was of no use!!
we need a option Marketing → Shopify Messaging → Suppression List with a method to reset a valid customers status.
It's a good tool but without custom HTML editing it kind of useless in most cases. I want to use custom design for my shop and it is not possible at the moment. Otherwise free plan is very generous comparing to other tools like Klaviyo.
