There is no method to create a sku for a single product. Looks nice if you want to generate skus in bulk though.

Actually, you can create a SKU for a single product if you send it to the app from the product editing page. Please go to the More actions menu, then select 'Generate SKU'. This will send the product to the app and you'll be able to generate the SKU.
I hope you'll reconsider the review.

Love this app! Solved all of my SKU, barcode and price tag issues. It's easy to use and the customer service is top-notch.

This is a great app – especially for those who want to generate easy to understand SKU code for the product with options in Japanese. For an example, if a product has a color option "ピンク" (meaning pink in English), you can generate SKU code like P-PINK-0001.
The support is extremely quick and efficient. I am very happy to recommend this app!

I used to not have to worry about this app. They did an update at some point that now, half the time, the auto generate doesn't work and I end up have to manually go back and edit sku numbers. it really stinks as I am listing products manually across multiple sales channels and so having the correct sku is super important I'm grandfathered in under the "Price Increase" they had and thinking this may be part of the problem - i.e. a bug of some sort as we're not paying their full premium etc. One would certainly hope that if you are going to pay for the auto generate, it would be reliable. At this point, I am having to go back in and verify the sku was generated and applied. When not, I have to go back and manually correct the SKU in the product and other sales channels. At this point, I most certainly could not recommend this to you for a no hassle auto generate and apply sku solution. It's workable if you don't mind the possibility that you need to go behind the app and correct it.

The auto-generate functionality is working, but there is one possible scenario when you could overwrite the SKU generated by the app.
This can happen when you create the new product manually. It usually takes few seconds for the app to get the message from Shopify that a new product was created and to save the newly generated SKU.
If you do not refresh the page, to load the SKU generated by the app, and save the product again (with the SKU field empty) you will overwrite it.

I used this app to help me but it could certainly be better if if allowed me to select the order of layouts.

This is a very finicky app. In our case we trusted it and it seriously screwed us up (now sure what went wrong in the process). I guess it doesn't check if previous SKUs collided with current SKUs their generation process (even if those were generated by the app). Because of that it generated duplicated SKUs for a couple of our products. This means we printed duplicated SKUs (and barcodes for that matter) and sent badly tagged products to our warehouse. We are having to generate new SKUs for each duplicated product, retrieve all badly tagged products from the warehouse and manually check them one by one to see what they actually are in order to generate new codes. Horrible experience. It works alright in some cases but it makes "small" mistakes... And those mistakes are EXPENSIVE.

Also no options to print on Brother printers.

It's important to note that the app operates as designed, and duplicated SKUs can be generated if the app is not configured properly or if the configuration is altered in a way that results in such duplication.
However, we recognize that the current functionality lacks an option to check for duplicates, which could have prevented this issue.

This app is THE REAL time saver!!! It helps so much and saves weeks of work. Also, the support responded within a few minutes and was very effective and communicative. Thanks to these guys I generated SKUs the way I wanted within a few minutes! Will surely check out their other apps today
