This is a really bad experience with this app and the customer service.

It is fine to sync the sales record to Xero when we are using it for free. So, we enrolled with the monthly plan. It works fine for the first month (July), but then it is not able to sync for our August sales?! We wrote a few times to Bold for help and have not received a reply for two weeks now.

As a paid customer, we are very disappointed.

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP. What kind of business stops a service doesn't tell you and then expects you to pay with no warning. AVOID BOLD.

Hi there. We're sorry you were experiencing technical issues, and would be happy to give you a call if you'd like. In the meantime, we have reached out via email to discuss this. Hope to hear from you!

One of the reasons we picked Shopify was that it was free to integrate with Xero. The writing was on the wall when they flogged part of it to Bold, but didn't expect the level of service to drop as it has. Then to find out we're being charged almost the same as our Shopify costs is a complete joke.

Goodbye Shopify. You just lost our business.

App does its job most of the time, but is buggy, disconnects randomly, makes your accounting cumbersome, and keeps introducing new limitations. The latest price plan change is a joke, as functionality does not justify paying that much money - we will be looking for a better offering.

DO NOT | DO NOT | DO NOT pay for this app, you will regret it.

Cancelled the app after they went to paid (as did the other multiple negative reviewers). I would gladly pay the fee IF they had added functionality OR even perfected the app, as it stands this app is full of glitches AND if you sell services (like we do) does not have the capability to sync into multiple sales accounts in Xero, meaning your services will get entered into Merchandies sales account, unless you manually go in and edit EACH invoice (try doing that when you have over 600 invoices per month).

I tried this app on my new GorgeousCreatures.com.au site. Support is slow, vague and generally unhelpful. No response from my last email with screen shots and request for help for days. I used this app for three weeks then it made such a mess of my accounts that I had to disconnect and paid my accountant many hundreds of dollar to fix up the duplicates and issues that this app created. It added products to Xero including the tax, the tax rates did not come over accurately for freight account code and Bold support and an app integration specialist could not work out why. You can only select one sales account code as well and I have about 20 different categories that I track so it took massive amounts of editing in Xero to fix the poor data coming through from the Bold app. I had to remove and redo payment to be able to edit the freight tax code for the correct country. Xero is a wonder tool but the Bold app does not work well enough to talk to Xero. It is going to be easier for me to do in manually.

This app worked ok for a couple of years but for the last few months it has been terrible. On numerous occasions it has corrupted the invoices I'm importing to Xero - putting the wrong SKUs in the wrong invoices which stuffs up my inventory and accounts. I've spent hours (days!) fixing it and each time I trusted they'd sort it out but the camel's back has been broken - I've moved to a different app and feel the need to warn people. Their support people have been responsive and seem to want to be helpful but ultimately they've been unable to fix the root cause nor fix the mess in my accounts, despite me providing access to my data for diagnosis and a detailed description of what has happened each time (main trigger seems to have been when an invoice contains an item code that hasn't been set up in Xero yet - the app creates an item like it always used to, then has a meltdown, corrupting all your subsequent invoices). Don't go near this if you value your time and the accuracy of your accounts.

Tolerated the many glitches, missing data, etc, etc, etc. only because the app was free. Shopify is great, Xero is great, this app not so much. Definitely not worth the fees they are asking for. We'll be looking around.

This app has always been a bit crap. It did 85% of the job but there were always glitches and refunds/ credits etc were always catered poorly. I thought it was a freebie provided by Xero so didn't complain. But no! This is another crap-ola BOLD app. Bold seem to think they can over-charge for everything.
I found this month that I had not been able to reconcile my Xero transactions due to exceeding monthly export on free plan, so upgraded. However I still can't export the remainder of the orders from last month even though I'm now on the paid plan and there is no way to go back retrospectively and export the orders from before today! Now I'm in the crappy position of having to reconcile 15+ days of transactions manually. I'm going to be un-installing and disputing the charge for the current month via Shopify support.

If I could give no stars I would.

This app makes me want to kill myself... I have used it for around 18 months and at I chose it because it had the Bold Apps name behind it.

Well I can safely say that this app is terrible. You need to map each product manually on your store with the entry on Xero because if you don't the app will match your products any which way it likes when you export which will wreak havoc on your stock in Xero and has necessitated us needing to commit close to 90 hours fixing the issues that the app created.

I got in touch with support to see if they can fix the issue and they were sympathetic but ultimately blamed the original developer of the app and stated that Bold is unlikely to redo the app as this will take "significant time". So they are very happy to take my money in the meantime but won't do a thing to improve the app.

Recently I got in touch with support to see if they can improve the loading of the products for the manual mapping (spoiler, they can't) and they did an export without telling me and it has messed up the mapping of over 80 products.

Don't even get me started on the manual mapping interface... the search function does not work and I have to scroll through our thousand+ catalogue of SKUs to match the correct product.

Bold... if you are reading this: FIX YOUR APP! REBUILD IT! It is not fit for purpose and it dragging your name through the mud!!!!

Update (11 July): Support are now harassing me and want to reset the mapping so they can "test" how the mapping is taking place. Yeah great, then I get to clean up the mess in Xero afterwards. This will only lead to even more of a disaster. They are blaming me because they say that my SKUs are not right on Shopify or Xero or both. There are some variants on Shopify that share SKUs on Xero and there are some SKUs on Xero that are not on Shopify, that is just how business works. I still don't understand why the app can't take this into account/ignore this and just match the SKUs exactly instead of randomly matching them any which way it likes.

Even better: why not let the app take a stab at matching the SKUs on Xero and Shopify and have the customer be able to review it BEFORE they need to export the transactions.
