As a long-time Zapier user (over 5 years), I expected better from a company I’ve trusted for automating critical business processes. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been extremely disappointing and has left me with no choice but to stop using their service.
First, Zapier’s renewal practices are poorly designed, especially for a product costing over $1,000 per year. They send only one email notification about the upcoming renewal a month in advance.
I attempted to downgrade my plan a month before renewal but encountered issues on their platform that prevented me from doing so. When the subscription renewed, I contacted their support team on the same day to request a downgrade, as no services had yet been used. Shockingly, they refused my request, citing inflexible policies that completely disregard customer satisfaction or fairness.
Adding insult to injury, the customer service agent I dealt with was rude and dismissive, which was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.
Zapier has shown they do not value their long-term customers, and I can no longer recommend their service to other business owners. I’ve now stopped using Zapier entirely and will no longer recommend it to my clients.
If you’re considering using Zapier for your Shopify store, I’d strongly advise you to carefully review their renewal and cancellation policies before committing. Their inflexibility and poor customer service make them difficult to trust for businesses that rely on transparent and customer-focused practices.
I will be following up with a complaint to Shopify as I am not sure their "no refund" policy is in compliance with the app marketplace.
Zapier allows me to automate repetitive tasks between Shopify and countless other apps I use. From adding new customers to email lists to updating inventory in my fulfillment system, Zapier takes the manual work out of the equation, saving me precious time.
Zapier no longer has a free option for Shopify and, therefore, stopped working and won't allow you to connect back to Shopify unless you have a paid Zapier account.
After using Zapier for years, one day one of our Shopify stores stopped connecting. Every time we're trying to connect it to Zapier, we get "This auth is expired. Please reconnect it here."
- No matter what we tried, Zapier will not connect to our store out of a sudden.
- Their customer service pretty much said we're on our own after years of working with them and they can't help us. They will file a ticket internally and only IF there is enough complaints like this, then someone will work on this issue.
The app doesn't work.
Every time I try to connect, it says
"Oh, foo.
Zapier could not connect to your account.
Perhaps you declined access?
Or it could be a temporary issue."
I have contacted the support, I still haven't received any answer.
I am experiencing the same thing. I am trying to reconnect to Shopify from Zapier and its giving me an authorizing error. It was working before then just stopped working in the last week.
App wouldnt let me connect to Shopify. While this seems to be a simple connection issue that could be fixed, it wouldnt resolve itself and no customer support available
This app is AWESOME. I always thought, "wouldn't it be great if I could..." without realizing that I can, using Zapier. I'm feeling a little impatient for some of the other services I use (AHEM, SHIPSTATION) to get on the bandwagon and make some integrations available through Zapier so I and everybody else can run our businesses more efficiently. But this app has already saved me so, so much admin time. Love it.
If you need to get data out of Shopify into another system this is the way to go. All our orders are in Salesforce thanks to this app.
There are some things I would like it to do that it doesn't, though these aren't the app's fault. Some of the data that comes out of Shopify is incomplete or formatted weird, which required lots of work on the Salesforce end to get it to work (triggers, etc). However, it couldn't have been done at all without Zapier.
We're a non-profit, and they were willing to let us use the app for free. So what could I complain about, really?
Zapier is an amazing tool. Their support is also quite incredible. When you have those moments of frustration with native integrations, Zapier comes to the rescue. In our case, that means automatically adding new Shopify contacts to Zendesk. We also use it to drive facebook leads to mailchimp for lead generation campaigns.
