This has been one of my best customer service experiences ever. I changed my email name, and I was afraid that I was going to lose all my previous info, but Dan helped me with the process to migrate my old emails from the old account to the new one, and it was a breeze. He was willing to help me set up my DNS as well, and he was there from beginning to end. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hosted Email for your business. Listen, I am not exaggerating, the customer service was almost perfect.

Had a great experience with Dan and Jack in the support team. We needed to upgrade our storage options and in the process uncovered issues with our domain - Dan and Jack worked hard to get these problems resolved on our behalf even with it being beyond their responsibility. Best in class Email Hosting for Shopify. Outstanding fast support by Dan Support Tech too. We are a NOT for Profit so needed a no-cost basic functionality for alias emails only. This is the one to install! Easy.

We have been using this email client for about three years, and every time we have needed support, primarily for integrating changes on our end rather than issues on their side, we have received fantastic assistance. The communication is quick and to the point. They are always willing to help and take care of tasks for us so we can get back to business. I wish we could give them more than five stars. They are amazing and worth every penny!

The app works well - but that is not the primary reason for the rating. I have needed service twice now - not because of the app, but due to transitions needed for our business. Their service has been awesome. Prompt response and everything taken care of correctly. I don't experience that from a lot of companies these days - so this is what really stands out for me.

10/2/2025 - Hosted Email as originally stated has absolutely fantastic customer service and great app for small online shops. Highly recommend adding for hosted email services.
Great app to round out as many service apps as possible under Shopify. It makes it so much easier to manage. Nice guided steps to set up, it took a couple of hours to remember the DNS host to achieve that portion of the setup. I am hoping as Hosted Email advances its technology it can incorporate an updated visual email format, fonts, etc, and allow adding logos/art; the appearance of the email is dated compared to Outlook. Highly recommend the app if you are flexible about using this alternative to Outlook.

I have a very hard time accessing this email app that is supposed to be integrated via my shopify store. I am being asked for a user name and password - and I did not have to create that when obtaining the app. Their chat help is a bot that is not helpful. Getting tired of not being able to open my app like every other app I pay for - and having it work properly. Very poor customer service, very poor functionality.
Addition: Your response is wrong. I suddenly after months of accessing my email - was required to sign in with a password that didn't exist and was never required before. After literally days of trying to resolve the issue and so much back and forth, it become pointless to continue with such a flawed app. Good riddance.

The Hosted Email app does not require a username or password to load from your Shopify store, so the issue you encountered is likely to have been related to accessing webmail or setting up an email client or could have been a temporary issue with Shopify since they provide the authentication for the app.
It's impossible to say for sure because unfortunately, despite our support team’s willingness to assist, we were unable to resolve the issue due to the abusive and threatening nature of your messages and your unwillingness to provide sufficient details about the issue you were facing. Our chat system is AI-powered and successfully handles most queries. Our support ticket system is always available and is answered by our support team, who are dedicated to providing prompt and effective assistance.
We always strive to help every customer, but we cannot tolerate abusive or uncooperative behaviour, which makes it impossible for us to provide support.
We are unsure why you describe it as "literally days of trying to resolve the issue", as our support team replied to you 49 minutes after your initial threatening email and tried to help. Your second threatening email came in 2 hours 40 minutes later, which our support team replied to 19 minutes later, then you uninstalled the app.
I'm user of this app for few years now, and what a fantastic service! Every question and inquiry I had was successfully resolved asap. Thank you so much!!

This is an easy to use, simple, email service which is perfect for me. I am writing this review today because this week, Shopify updated which unintentionally shut down Hosted Email 24 hours. Normally, I never have issues with Hosted Email. I found a way to email them via the support system and told them I won't get any email they send me but wanted to let them know their app down. A customer service rep called me right away and let me know what was happening. He helped me sign in on the website version of the email service. They also emailed after Shopify fixed the problem on their end to let me know what happened. I have to say the customer service was very polite, helpful and kind. Very nice company.

Worked for a couple of years, dealt with some delayed emails and had to physically check emails via Webmail. This past week we started getting a 20+ return to sender emails. Support asked me to re-connect and check all of my settings. Did that, waited 48 hours and still having issues. Super frustrating, looking at different email host.
We're sorry you've experienced these problems, although at this stage, it's unclear if the problem actually lies with our app or an issue in your Gmail account or settings as we have many users that also use the send mail as feature of Gmail and nobody else is reporting problems and we have been unable to reproduce your issue in a test Gmail account.
We have been doing our best to resolve this and your support ticket is still open and awaiting a response from you. If you'd prefer to move to another provider instead, you are of course free to do so and can cancel your service without without further charge by just uninstalling the app.
