This app checks all the right boxes for our business! We need the capability to create multiple delivery zones that we deliver to each day of the week. We offer free delivery over certain amount, but would be nice to charge for local delivery under that amount instead of simply shipping courier with all those orders. Will give this app a 5 star later, but for now 1 star as it needs some extra capabilities for us. Have reached out to shopify and will see if they get back with solutions for our business. Edit 1. So far working great! Do have an issue with verifying addresses. Would be nice to verify them in the delivery list. Edit 2. Its October now an basically nothing has changed on this app. Very disappointing! I was hoping this app would solve a lot of our fulfillment and delivery problems but so far it doesn't function for us.
Hi,
I’m Tejas from the Shopify product team. Thank you for your feedback. It helps improve the local delivery experience.
We are working on adding support for multiple delivery zones and look forward to making the app more useful to you in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for those changes.
We are sorry the address verification is not working for you. I will reach out to you to see how we can help you verify them in the delivery list. Be sure to check your inbox and junk mail folder for my email.
Best,
Tejas
Very helpful App to keep customers up to date on the day of delivery. Would be great if you could manually add other orders into the delivery screen, not just 'local delivery' selected orders.
3 star because of the concept and idea. Really good idea to improve productivity, Few issues
The app freeze and and never could create a list, also we were lockdown in the app and could not go back to the admin unless we restart the device.
another issue was the some of our customers could not pass true because their address was no verify by google.
We hope all this issue can be fix to try again.
It works - it's nice to let customers pick local delivery online and the radius limit is key. However, I do greatly wish we were able to select from ALL orders in making a delivery list instead of ONLY those who selected local delivery. Not being able to makes that feature basically useless for us.
I was really excited when I saw this app had arrived but its a huge disappointment frankly.
As a company that exclusively does local deliveries it could be a game changer but currently it's worthless I'm sad to say.
-The local delivery limit doesn't seem to actually inhibit orders out of the area from being made, but some inside it does.
-the lack of ability to select it as an option from a draft order is a very strange omission.
-the lack of multiple delivery rate threshold options based on order amount and/or distance from business location is a wasted opportunity.
-when you do get the app to work and manage to select orders to calculate a route, the app always does them furthest order away first. The ability to change this to nearest to furthest would be useful, it makes no business sense to carry your entire day's deliveries to the furthest address away first, burning more fuel than needed.
-once you've got a route (even though it is backwards) you then can't do anything with it. The app never lets me store it to recall the next day or send to another user with access to the shop. It needs to be sharable as a Google maps route so the delivery driver can click on it and set off on his or her way.
-admin needs to be able to choose the orders for a route, save the list, name it and share it with the delivery driver.
-local delivery orders also need to be editable, they are no different to any other order in that respect.
Sort a few of these things out and it's getting there! Drafts orders input at the very least.
This app has huge potential because it already intergrates to shopify , but having read all the reviews you can see not much is being done to add more features. There are alot of valid suggestions within the past reviews and to date none of them have been developed even thou they were mentioned more than 6 months ago so not sure how serious shopify is with this app. Some features that urgently need adding POD , Manuel adding of addresses just to name a few.. If you cant add these features maybe you should buy an exsisting platform that has these features because alot of us are looking for these things.. Personally if it didnt intergrate into shopify i wouldnt even use it because their are alot better apps out there. Im not complaining Im just stating how i see the app and its currently very basic overall Id say it 3.5 / 5.. If the developer is to make a reply to this review please give some depth to your answer and not just say we will pass your feedback on because thats not what we want to hear
Hi there, Purely Gourmet. Thank you very much for leaving a review of this nature for us to look at. It's clear that you're passionate about the role that Local Pickup plays in your business operations, as well as the operations of other posters here. I want to assure you that we, too, share that same passion for all of the businesses that use Local Pickup. When folks leave feedback for us, we're incredibly appreciative, as it allows us to make suggestions to our Product Development Team so we can make our application offerings better. As you've mentioned, there have been many recommendations made here, over a large time-span, and I want to stress that these pieces of feedback have been passed along. Our Team is responsible for many applications, as well as our standard Shopify offerings, so there are always features that are being either considered, worked on, or implemented, within Shopify products. Though there may not have been updates to Local Pickup that hit on some of the specific feedback mentioned here, our team does take the time to investigate all suggestions, and assess the viability of adding them. The more feedback provided to us, the more we can pass along to our teams, so they can see how desired these features are. Your review serves as a solid reminder to provide feedback when possible, so we can build something better for all. Thank you again for taking the time to leave this review for us, and I hope that we're able to build Local Pickup into something that is capable of doing all of what you desire. -Imogen, Shopify Support
I am about to use the app for the first time tomorrow, and it looks like it plotted out a good route for me. The map is clear and makes good sense. One distinct disadvantage, however, is I have several other stops to make that aren't deliveries through my orders, and I'm not able to add additional stops. I have one customer that made a mistake with the delivery selection, and this will be a local delivery, but I also can't add certain order numbers. I would like more flexibility with how I add stops.
Pretty functional. Delivery routes on the app work fairly well. There are a few things below that really need to be added to the app. 1) You can't use accelerated checkouts apart from Shop pay, which is really bad! I have had a far greater increase in abandoned checkouts since installing the app as it makes our site look un-trustworthy to new customers. This is just so bad, you cant use paypal, apple pay or any other accelerated checkout. Really close to moving back to Zapiet due to this. I would like to know if there is a plan to change this?
2) When a driver marks an order as delivered the option to take a photo on the app which will then send a photo in the confirmation email to the customer would be a HUGE winner and make the delivery side of the app really good.
A big part of our business is local deliveries so we were thrilled when Shopify added that functionality, but it's coming up short for a few reasons.
1) i need to be able to charge different rates for different zip codes. As a result, we only use the Shopify Local Delivery functionality for the 3 closest zip codes and I use a different app to differentiate rates for other zip codes. 2) the app needs to allow me to manually tag an order as a local delivery. As a result of weakness #1, not all my local orders appear in the app so it's mostly useless.
3) I need to be able to manually import addresses/spreadsheets. we work with a lot of large bulk orders where folks want to send 20 gifts to 20 addresses and these are not entered as separate orders in shopify.
We used this app to coordinate deliveries we do ourselves, some large orders for wholesalers, and other small retail orders. Overall it is pretty good, though it would be great if it had a built in GPS/routing software, rather than prompting to Google. I would also love it if you could edit orders once placed (not currently able) and if orders with $0.00 total could be ordered (for example if somebody uses a discount code to cover the whole charge, the order is ineligible for Local Delivery).
Otherwise pretty helpful!
