Bold Product Options in a nutshell
Bold Product Options will allow you to add unlimited customizations and options to your product listings. You can use priced options to add extra charges when customers make certain choices, and conditional logic to show/hide options based on what the shopper has already picked. After the order goes through, you can see those options on the order summary within Shopify.

Unlimited options, unlimited combinations
If your products have more personalization than allowed for by Shopify's 100-variant limit, you can use this app to get the customization you're looking for. The app doesn't create additional variants for standard options, allowing your inventory to be kept in check and reducing clutter in your admin.
Custom designs and images from customers are made super easy using the robust file uploads system. Right in-line with the product page, customers can upload mockups, home photos, spec sheets, or any other type of file you want to allow so that their products can be made-to-order. These files can then be accessed right from the order screen in Shopify so that fulfilling them is a breeze.
Priced options (Premium)
Using Bold Product Options, customers can choose options that increase the price of the product they're picking. There are two ways of doing this with the app: 1. Link an option to an existing product on your store. For example, if your option was a cross-sell like "Add batteries", you could link that to the batteries that you normally sell on your store so that it charges the customer accordingly and deducts it from inventory.
- Create prices on the fly! The app can simply assign a price to an option (such as gift-wrapping or engraving) that doesn't carry inventory, and show the customer how much they'll be paying on top of the base product price.
Conditional logic (Premium)
This great feature allows you to show or hide product options based on other selections that the customer has made. For example, to avoid confusing them and keep your product pages a little cleaner, you could hide a text box that asks for their engraving message if they haven't selected the engraving option.
Edit in cart (Premium)
Once a customer has picked their product and gotten to the cart page, they might notice that they made a mistake in selecting the options for their item. Using our EXCLUSIVE edit-in-cart feature, customers can edit the options on that product directly from the cart page. Phew!

This app did work for me, BUT before you get this:
First, be aware of the cost difference if you need conditional logic. It's another 9.99 more/mo. and it isn't obvious on the main page of the app. I was drawn to this app for that reason - conditional logic, then disappointed to learn it was more money.
Second: if you choose expert install (free), it will take at least 2 business days.
Third: CACHING is a very big problem while developing your options. You create an option, go to preview it in your development theme copy, and you don't see it working anywhere because cache has to be cleared. After two days of tech support, they told me cache needs to be cleared, but there is no option for that anywhere. Instead they give you a tech support link telling you how to edit a liquid file. I suggested they add the ability to clear cache somehow. I'm sure it would save them hours of tech support, and the end-user a lot of headaches.
I can't even imagine how this app got such great reviews! Don't even know where to start. Firstly, the video you see makes it look super user-friendly. The problem is, that was from Version 1. We're now using version 2, which is completely different and a nightmare. To add icing to that cake, there is no guide, so you're on your own, folks. If you have very basic, straightforward requirements I'm sure you'll eventually be able to find your own way through the woods (maybe), but add in conditional logic and I wish you the best of luck, my friends.
And I haven't even begun to talk about customer service yet! I emailed to tell them that the complexity of the app was WAY beyond me, and I have to admit, they tried their best to supply me with a work-around. So I gave them another chance. That was a mistake. When I contacted them through the chat function, communication was painful. I gave up after the first issue and chose to book a call instead. I had to wait 2 days for their "onboarding" call (which was ok) but I waited 30 minutes past the scheduled call time and - nothing. No one called me. Then I called their customer service line. Waited on hold for a while only to have them tell me to "leave a message and someone will call you back". Now, I've been waiting another 35 minutes. Still no call from the "onboarding" appointment either (which is now 65 minutes late). Ridiculous. Just run far and fast to another app. There are plenty better than this garbage.
