I have used CWILL popups for about a year and mostly had a good experience, which is why this is disappointing to write.

Two issues from the past week.

First, a bug in the multilingual popup editor. Several fields (Resend link, Countdown text, Wrong email text, Change email link, and the button) would not save per language. Editing the Greek version overwrote the German one, and clearing a field auto-filled English instead of leaving it blank. I spent two days isolating this before contacting support, recorded a video, and supplied the exact replacement text for both languages. Support escalated it and promised an update within 24 to 48 hours. That update never came. Three days later I discovered on my own that it had been fixed. The fix happened quietly and nobody thought to tell the person who reported it.

Second, the multilingual email automation. I saw that multilingual templates require Pro. Without upgrading, I built my own templates anyway and spent around ten hours on a Sunday writing welcome email content in twelve languages, plus all my test credits verifying it. Nothing worked, and only then did support confirm the feature is Pro-only. So I upgraded at $24.90, subscribed through the Hungarian version of my store, and received the email in German.

Support later explained that language selection is based on the subscriber's IP location, not the storefront language they subscribed from. I have since confirmed this with a VPN, so the feature does work as designed. But the design is wrong for cross-border stores. I ship across the EU and a large share of my customers are people living outside their own language area. A Hungarian in Germany, a Greek in Berlin. When someone deliberately switches my store to Hungarian, that is an explicit choice, and it should outrank a guess based on IP. This behaviour is not documented anywhere before you pay.

The support agents were polite and responsive. The problem is the product decisions and the follow-through.
