you get 10k free emails a month. eventually you'll get charged, but we were making revenue off of the free ones, so it's totally worth it, it's a really scalable option.

If you can't afford a lot of stuff, you can use this to get to the point where you can!

I have really enjoyed the Shopify experience. i have 2 sites and although i am a small business i do feel that the site gives a professional look and has gained me many customers through the site and also on my wholesale platform Faire.
