Works okay but when using subdomains (like .com/en-fr or /en-de, there are SEO issues with cannibalisation. Google, and bing show warning and issues. I don't really have the budget to translate well enough to warrant forcing German or French translation only, because it may be inaccurate. One day I may try again.
Les traductions sont à peu près bien, mais pas tout beaucoup de texte mal traduit. ça fait l'affaire pour un site débutant
I've tried a few translate app and this one fits my budget and does part of the job well.
I would prefer translation ensured by ChatGPT as Google translate is not as accurate for French or Greek. Maybe the developer of this app could consider it or use shopify AI?
The auto-translate button is a nice option, but I noticed after a few months that it was not always translating the metadata. Improvement on that part would be appreciated.
that app need an exemtion list to be perfect, it is abnormal that this is translating the name of the products
Still waiting for the ability to manage product images, edit image url (wihtout changing image), edit ALT-text and so on. These are basic features in an international e-commerce that should have been in place several years ago. Furthermore, it means more images need to be uploaded to their servers while all you really needed was the ablity to change the uri and the alt text.
Sorting or filtering among products could use a bit of improvment.
App have interaction bug: (Linux/Chrome/Firefox):
The top left "back" button of the app page, returns to the previous page, leaving the admin panel in full-screen mode and hiding all admin control panels. Please fix it!
I’ve been using the Translate and Adapt app for a while now, and unfortunately, it no longer translates pages or products into the desired language, especially after updating them more than twice. The issue has persisted for several months now, and even when I spend a long time translating content manually, it often doesn’t save. I’ve followed all the troubleshooting steps provided, but the issue persists. The app only works if I haven’t modified a product or page more than twice. When I report the issue, I’m always told to contact the app developers — but this is a Shopify-developed app, so I’m left wondering who else I should report it to. Very disappointing!
Such a great app, but been waiting eagerly for more than just 2 translations, when will this happen? would be happy to pay a subscription for more as don't want to have to install another app. Please, please update with ability to add more than just 2! Thank you.
Shopify Translate might be suitable for basic needs.
But it lacks some advanced features available in ConveyThis and Weglot. Notably, Shopify Translate does not offer strong multilingual SEO support (like translated URL slugs and hreflang tags), nor does it provide extensive customization options for language switchers or dynamic content translation. While Shopify's native app supports multiple languages, it doesn't allow as much flexibility in design or API integration for custom translation workflows.
It would be great if we could have a custom language selectors, multilingual SEO features, and a robust API for on-demand translations, for more complex or large-scale stores.
I was translating from English to Spanish and German. In the most part, in normal word translating the app worked fine. But if there was any kind of command within a bracket [ ] then the app translated the command and then the command did not work, but showed the actual translated word instead. Unfortunately, to change all the translated commands back to English is going to take for ever, so I´m going to have to find an alternative.
