Works well as a messaging service EXCEPT from the security of the app and zero protection from scammers and fake email use. Spammers can use fake emails to send messages and leave you endless spam and there is no way to stop them, leaving you sifting through spam to find your genuine customers.
The app needs an email verification system or an IP blocking capability to make it more secure. Because of this huge flaw, I give it a 1 star review.
It has worked very well. Honestly made the customer service job so much easier for me! The only thing I wish it offered is a way to link the chat to help direct customers to it.
This app has been very helpful for the customers wanting to reach out directly through chat vs an email or phone call. I've been using it for a few years now and I would recommend it.

Very easy to use
We like the idea of using the Shopify inbox on our site but in reality the app is too basic.
There is no ability to universally select notification settings. Notifications are automatically set to ON and now everyone with access to our store is getting notifications.
To switch this off - EVERYONE will need to individually enter the app and disable notifications for themselves. Even if you have 100 staff members who are nothing to do with customer service. That is bad app design.
As the store owner I should be able to select who gets access to Shopify inbox and universally what the notification settings are.
I think there also needs to be more functionality integrated around which staff members are currently available to take conversations - ideally auto allocating them to people on shift.
