My initial review was negative but Pixel support got in touch with me and worked diligently to fix the problems I identified earlier.
It now works well. A couple of tips:
1. The app automatically pulls in and fulfills orders even if you have your store set for manual fulfillment. I mentioned this to the app developer and he built in a 3 hour delay so that if a customer cancels immediately after ordering we can still stop the item from being produced.
2. The cost of items does not include the shipping cost. Be sure to account for that if your store offers free shipping.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. There are many issues with this app. But the worst is that somehow FAA picked up a very old archived test order and created a new order on their end. The first we knew about it was being billed through our credit card. There was no emails no notifications. We attempted to stop this order with them multiple times, with multiple emails. Noone answered. We still have not had any response after 1 month. So we are out 100's of dollars because of their app that does not work and customer service that doesn't respond.
Seamless integration and the ultimate choice for any creative who wants to a Print on Demand service. Pixels Support has been Outstanding - timely, informative, right on the money. I couldn't ask for more.
Don't be like me and waste time and money on this app/service. I ordered a print once before from Pixels and the quality of the print was great so I was excited about setting up a Shopify store to start selling my photography prints with Pixels as my PoD supplier. I went through building my Shopify storefront and uploading all of my photos to Pixels, and setting all of the prices; I even paid for an annual premium subscription to be able to upload more than 25 photos. Additionally, you have to (at a minimum) pay over $300 to make your Shopify account an annual plan and get Custom Carrier Shipping. The problem is: Custom Carrier Shipping does not integrate as advertised. I contacted customer support, where I was asked by Abbie to add a member of the Pixels team to my Shopify store as a staff member. I did so, and it has since been over a week since I have heard anything else from Pixels customer support; despite 5 separate attempts by me to follow up. All this while customer orders are piling up in my store, but I am unable to ship thanks to Pixel's insufficient app. 3 of my follow-up attempts were by email; 2 by phone. There is no phone # listed on the Pixels site to contact support, so I had to hunt around online for a bit first. The one number I was able to find took me to Dominique from customer support - only not on this end of the business. At first I was told that since I had sent an email that day, I was required to wait 24 hours for a response before they could assist me; which made no sense given that I had not heard from them on prior emails for over a week. I told Dominique I would call back in 24 hours. I did, and she said actually there is nothing she can do anyways because she doesn't work in the end of the business. I asked to be transferred to someone who did and she was unable to do that. I asked to speak to a manager and she said that the only way to contact any manager was through email (as I had been doing, without response). I sent one final email strongly expressing my frustration with Pixels' inability to provide reasonable, 2021 standard customer service, and offering a chance to redeem themselves to win my business. Again, I had ordered prints directly through Pixels, and was satisfied with the print itself so I would have liked to work with them. But this attempt to restore the relationship was to no avail, as once again, I received no response. Not even a "we're still working on it..." Heed the negative reviews on this app. Do not make the same mistake I did giving them the benefit of the doubt.
We’ve been using Pixels/Fine Art America for several years now and are very happy! The selection of products, the availability of true print sizes and the superior quality of finished pieces make Pixels the best in the industry. Professional quality print-on-demand all the way around. In the rare times we have had a question or an issue, customer service has been responsive and helpful. If you have questions about the app and how it integrates into your store, the Pixels/FAA discussion boards offer a plethora of information. Highly recommend!
Although the quality of the products was good and the ease of adding products to my site was nearly seamless, with a lot of options, I don't recommend Pixels. I had to check pricing for each order as they over-charged me often, they don't charge tax or offer branding, they have limited and inaccurate information about their products and when they had lost or delayed orders-which happened a lot, they responded rudely, if at all. I do not recommend getting tangled up with this app.
Used the app and website sales could not process. Pixels support could not fix the problem. Had to uninstall and refund upset customer.
The number of items is being limited even though the store has unlimited items. I have reached out to customer support 2 times with no response at all. If they can't find time to help me on this, how are they going to resolve product/customer based concerns? The app is very limiting in frame and mat choices as well. The concept is there, but they have a long way to go in execution.
The support is good. They answer and address the issues. The MAJOR HOLE in this app is that its SKU numbers are beyond 80 characters, so they cannot be listed on either Amazon or eBay. Thats a HUGE setback for selling online in the 21st Century.
THE PROS: you dont have to stick to standard cropping for your artwork. You can do something other than 3:2, which is what every other POD place makes you stick to, and they offer lots of awesome papers and media for your art.
THE CONS: you cant really get it anywhere other than your own Shopify store, and watch the artwork languish for lack of exposure.
Choose Pixels if you:
- Want to work with an application that hasn't been updated since 2013.
- Enjoy the idea of being forced to manage your products across three different websites instead of just your own.
- Prefer paying 250% more for shipping than you would with any competitor app.
- Don't care about being able to set the price of your products (could be $30 today, $90 tomorrow).
- Prefer working with a company that has only one rude and unhelpful support person, who makes it very clear that they don't care about your problems.
Don't be an idiot like me, thinking "Fine Art America, that means high-quality prints for my customers!". This app is trash.
Avoid like the plague.
LARRY MARSHALL PHOTOGRAPHY: I have a Pixels site so the import of the products was pretty easy to my Shopify store. As a photographer, my primary printing need is wall art (metal, acrylic, canvas, framed, and art). I quickly learned that the Pixels app has a 100 variant limit, so that have to limit certain offerings, These include frames and mats...they only offer black and white mats and frames. My primary problem is this.....I have Wall Art in my header with a dropdown nested menu of Landscapes, Seascapes, Abstracts, Cityscapes, and Drone Photography. When you click on one of the nested items, it takes you to a page that shows all variants of every photo. Looks very messy and is not user friendly. What I need is another nested menu that doesn't expand all choices. For example, the try and solved this problem, I created a nested menu under Wall Art with the type of medium - Acrylic, metal, etc. The problem with that configuration is that every wall art variant and every medium shows and it takes up the entire home page with the nested menu because everything is expanded by default. If this problem can be resolved, it would be a 4.5 star. Any other photographers deal with this issue and was it resolved?
The app is not working with advanced shipping rules as promised. I also placed an order through my store and paid for it but it's disappeared! I've asked for support and the response was only to delete and reinstall the app. I asked again where's my order and no response yet. I've found if you use the recommended mark up from Fine Art America you make zero dollars and may actually lose money due to sales fees. I wish I'd read the earlier review about the need to integrate with advanced shipping rules first as the extra costs doubled my Shopify bill.
Saw all the high print quality reviews and said let's try it. What a disappointment. The print art for a T-shirt was originally black. Showed no issues when I uploaded. Printed fine with other vendors. So I ordered a sample here and all I can say is they should be shame for the piece of cloth they sent me with faded print that was supposed to be a quality t-shirt. I will definitely not used them ever. Unfortunately, this was supposed to be used with our first commercial. Back to the drawing board.
From the surface Pixels can offer your business a lot of value and ease of use for a print service. But the reality is once you use it for almost a year and see hardly any return on sales, accompanied by losing money over shipping/payment integration issues. followed by everything mentioned below on my cons list. its not worth it. Long Story Short If you are a Fine Art Photographer or looking for a professional looking website with access for clients to purchase High quality prints directly from your site using a 3rd party print lab Run away from this one..
Pros:
-Only app that will work with sopify store for the above use.
-lots of product selections
Cons:
-25MB File Size maximum (red Flag #1)
-Payment Integration is a nightmare
-Display Images of your FINE ART you want people to BUY with money on your website looks HORRIBLE. and I mean awful compared to the Full Size Image File. (this is more of a Shopify issue but none the less its a HUGE problem)
-for correct Shipping Calculations to be determined on orders (Pixels wont mention this part), you have to Purchase and Install ANOTHER 3rd party shopify plugin (advanced shipping Rules) that does this for you. Thuss making overhead go up, and the value of pixels go Down..oh and if thats not bad enough you have to pay for the entire Year upfront of shopify service just for the advance shipping app to work with pixels properly. so now even if I want to stop using pixels/shopify I wont be able to get that money back. (Huge Bummer)
-user support for this service is horrible
-User Interface (UI) is not great and often times confusing.
-claims to have lots of frame options but on my site it would only allow B&W frame/Matting options.
-uploading new Content to put on your site is time consuming.
-Prices are not any better than its competition
I do recommend that you check out the company PixieSet, They offer Website building,Professional Client Proofing service, a Store that works with 4 different labs you can offer your clients. and much more. I just started with them on a Free account and so far my its so much better than what Shopify/pixels can offer your photography business.
The products are good quality and consistant. The app is crazy quirky and impossible to hear from their tech support.
Of the many of apps I have on my Shopify store, this is by far the worst. I have been trying to login for 3 days now, and the app just takes you in circles (to different login pages). It also gets confused when you try to upload images and create products, and takes you to the purchase point (add to cart) when you're trying to create a product for your shopify store -from within the app! I have contacted their support multiple times and have received no response yet. It's too bad, because I've heard good things about the print quality of Fine Art America but this app (and their support) just aren't worth a damn!
App works fine. It is easy to understand once I figured out I dont need to enter products on both FAA and Pixels via the app. It doesnt import all of the settings you enter for your products, but I have found that none of the apps do. I havent ordered any samples from them because Fine Art America has fantastic reviews for both quality and speed of production.
I thought this app would be great to share my art and sell them on products on my website shawlinshop.com I am disappointed as it does not import tags or text on the given fields.
I had so much faith in this app. They have the best selection that I ever seen and I want to share the art but unfortunetally I cant instal it.Trying already for a month to instal it or find some guide how to fix this error when pressing on add app Error: The status failed to set correctly. | | Query was empty.

I just got this app and it is really great to use. Very easy to set up and just plain time-saving. Could not ask for a better app or customer service from Pixels.com. I had a question and thanks to Abbie, I am back in full operation again. Love this app and Pixels.
I had a few problems with print quality on a sample order I made but my products were either refunded or replaced so I'm happy with customer service working with me to correct any issues. I suggest ordering samples for yourself before selling to others. This app is pretty great for offering a wide range of sizes and media for fine art printing.
Pixels and Print On Demand is a wonderful business solution for artists. Their Shopify App is working great within our stand-alone website, and our online sales have increased over 50%. We will be adding more Pixel products!
I've been with Pixels for about a year. Overall, they're a great company with excellent quality in terms of durability of the product, and the print job.
Pixels is extremely reliable and fast. Everything I've ever ordered has been shipped within 2 business days, and arrives within 3 days after that - much faster than the competition. On top of that, their CS always answers any of my questions within a matter of hours. If something is wrong, they go above and beyond to fix the problem.
Print Quality & Quality of the Materials:
The duvet cover was outstanding. The fabric was head and shoulders above a competitors. Soft, luxurious and gave you a feeling of quality. The print job on the duvet cover was also top notch. A home run on all accounts.
The plush fleece blanket was the softest blanket I've ever seen, with a great image. However, because the threads are longer than Sherpa fleece, there was a white underbelly underneath the print. The Sherpa fleece was great quality material, but the image was a bit too soft for my tastes.
The only really big downside that I can think of is the sizing of the prints. Any image you upload is automatically loaded onto many different products. While this can be convenient, it can also result in a loss of quality of print. To be fair, you have the option of deleting certain variations. But a 16 x 20 canvas print will need a different image size than say a 5 x 7. With Pixels, you can upload a print for a 5 x 7, then stretch that to fit a 16 x 20 - but that would result in a huge loss of quality.
The other downside is that their app doesn't really tell you if the image you've uploaded is the best quality for the particular product you've chosen. Even the best picture with the best Dpi may need to be resized depending on different apps' specifications. Most of the other apps I've tried will tell you if the image you've uploaded is a good or bad quality for their particular app. But the Pixels app won't.
Despite their flaws, they're still a great company to do business with.
Very useful app. it helps with the fulfillment, customer communication as well as the shipment. But the shipping fee, as well as the production cost, are quite high. And their customer service is quite slow to respond. The upload process, as well as the product update process, can be improved.
Thanks for the app.

Tested the Print on demand service to my own address. communication from the site was poor. details for shipping non-existing the "shipping tracking" given does not even show it past. entered country destination after that seems to be off with the fairy's
customer service is delayed or unreachable. prices are all over the place one page shows 11 dollars actual order shows 8 dollars.
fast to take transaction slow to respond after that. order initially placed on the 23/12/2018 still in the wind today with no details from the Print on Demand Service Pixels.
DONT BOTHER DOWNLOADING!! These prices are ridiculous! A round beach towel is already $100 plus shipping on top!!??? You can buy the exact same towel on AliExpress for $15 with free shipping!!! I want to sell acrylic prints and the price including shipping is literally 4x more expensive than what I can get it else where.
This is not a drop shipping store.... its just a waste of time!
Update: (11/16/2018) Was contacted from someone from Pixels, so I do appreciate that someone actually read the review and took the time out to see what happened.
Wanted to do a sample order, thought I cancelled it but then the product appeared at my home. That's fine, I'm glad it came, the product is not as described, there was no tracking number sent to me and I made zero profit since the shipping was so expensive. So I will be removing all of the products from my store since what I would need to charge to cover cost and shipping would be ridiculously high. My search for a print on demand will continue. Would not recommend this app or service.
I just set up the app and loaded in all the products. It looks very promising. I just opened my store, so I have no track record with sales yet. It was fairly easy to install and add the products, but I wish Pixels would make a how-to video, just to answer the few questions I had. The product pictures and descriptions are good. And they do answer emails for help. I would recommend this app.
Absolutely love Pixels, the customer service is outstanding, and the products are grade A quality. I would highly recommend them to any business. :)
Seamless process for offering a nice variety of high quality products for our customers with relatively quick turnaround.
I used this app to launch my merch site and it was such a great experience. The professionalism from the staff was excellent. They provide a personal connection . They care about your success. The shipping is fast, the customer support is easy. They are fast at replying. They help you with any questions you have. They help guide you to a successful business.
These guys are great. We do all of our reproduction prints through Pixels and I cannot stress enough the quality of prints, professionalism of team, and ease of use. Alex has gone above and beyond on so many occasions and is ALWAYS there to help us with any problem or concern, big or small. The UI has a learning curve but is learnable quickly enough. Really stunning all around.
Pixels is a great partner for independent artists! Easy to use with GREAT customer service! Products ship fast and are best quality. Highly recommend!
I can not install the app in my store I do not know if this is normal ......................................
I have been testing Pixels out for a couple of months. Here are my thoughts:
1. Selection - We are printing on a variety of mediums including canvas, metal, and wood. The products ordered so far have exceptional quality.
2. Support - I have had a couple questions and have always received an answer within 24 hours. The answers are always thoughtful and help to explain anything I might need answered.
3. Print on Demand - Prints have shipped quickly once ordered.
4. App UX - It took me a bit to figure it out, but once I did, it works well and I am able to create new products quickly.
So far the app has been working pretty solid. I did have some slight issues with setting a few things up properly but their support team was very helpful and I was able to resolve it rather quickly. The simplicity of adding products and working with the app overall makes it a great choice.
I was super nervous at first because this drop shipper is different than the one I've grown to know very well. But the final product is beautifully made and offers my customer another option.
I had to contact customer service and I didn't know how fast they would get back to me but to my surprise they replied right away. The customer service via Pixel through Shopify is excellent!
I gave one star for use as a print on demand company, really it should be no stars for POD. It's easy to use and has an awesome selection of products but the prices are INSANE, you will never sell something that expensive and still be able to make a good profit. All of the good reviews are from artist selling their art in various ways which fine art always comes with a hefty price tag but if you are designing t-shirts, phone cases etc. don't bother downloading and getting your hopes up because no matter how cool of a design you will never be able to sell a basic phone case for $50 no matter how hip.
I rate Pixels as 1 star for the lack of Customer Service and support. After an order was placed and not hearing anything to confirm the order, I contacted them multiple times but no reply. I had to cancel my order and then deleted the App. The rating of 1 Star is for the product line that they have, but unfortunately if they cant supply and fulfil orders then they are not worth dealing with.
Hope you guys improve your Customer Service and Support as everything esle looks good on your App, just the support is needed.
I love the integration between Fine Art America/Pixels and Shopify, and what the two together allow me to create! Using the Pixels app, I can upload my art to so many cool products at the same time, and have them available for sale on my shop online, where they can be ordered, fulfilled and shipped for me without me having to keep an inventory. It’s been an amazing way for me to start my small art business. Thank you to both Pixels and Shopify for making this integration happen! ♡
It's a good app but it'd be better if i could actually LOG BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT! first it says that's that my email isn't registered and then when i try to add a new account it says that my email is already being used with another account. (UPDATE) alex from pixels just gave me a call and helped me out with getting into my account so it just went from a 3 star review to a 5 star review.
Very good client service,Mr Alex Young is fantastic in answering all needed questions.
As an online shop owner the features this app provides helps me give my customer a more customized options for products! Whenever i've had an issue the rep Alex Young stepped up to the plate to aide me in whatever the issue was! Followed up with great communication and as a business owner you know that more than half the battle! Great app, great support!
I have had a great experience with Pixels. The app is easy to use, they offered me free samples of the products, and the person i was in touch with to set up the business was very helpful and available. Overall i would say the products are of a good quality and made in america, the service is reliable and user friendly. Recommend.
Pixels is awesome. Unlike other inventory apps that force you to add products one by one, Pixels automatically imports your inventory from Fine Art America and all you have to do is choose with products to add to your Shopify store. It does take time to set up, but it's incredibly user-friendly. The tech support is incredible -- they are always on top of everything, and they even make sure to build a relationship with their Shopify partners by having you stay with the same tech person so you can go right to them if you are having a problem with the app. The CEO of Pixels is awesome as well, and he's even helped us with integration in spots where we have struggled. I'm so thrilled with how clean and clear cut this app is and I couldn't be happier with the support I have received while getting up and running. Setting up shipping can be tricky for the novice, but tech support is always happy to help and once they were informed, it was seamless. They manufacture products automatically and all you have to do is sit back and enjoy making money. :) Download it. Now.
Way too expensive.
How am I supposed to sell a shower curtain that costs me $65? Or a towel that costs me $35?
I have been with Pixels/Fine Art America for many years. I was very excited when they brought this app to Shopify. There are not a lot of good options for POD apps with Shopify. Pixels integration is the easiest thus far. There were quite a few bugs when they first released the beta version, but they have worked on fixing most of them. (I will change my rating to a 5 star once I feel confident that all the bugs are fixed). They also recently reduced the base pricing (as compared to what they charge on Pixels/Fine Art America) because they aren't doing as much for us artists on our own websites as they are on their websites. They offer a large variety of products and use archival inks for printing.
Out of all the dropshipping apps I have used thus far, Pixels is by far the best! My customers love the clutches! They are high quality in make and look great with my art prints. The app is very easy to use. Any issues with orders, questions or queries pixels is quick to respond and help. They have so many great products to choose from. I am excited to continue to work with them and try more of their products! If you are just starting out pixels is a great app to download to begin!
The base prices are insane. There are way too many other print-on-demand companies with MUCH lower prices to go any farther with my test of the app.
I only got as far as uploading a photo in order to see base prices for all products. After seeing the same products I pay other printers 50% less for, I quickly uninstalled. $30 base price for a phone case?? $20 for the same tote others sell for $10? $18 tees others sell for $10-13? No.
