We implemented the DEAR - Shopify integration recently, and so far, great! The integration was easy to implement, and the solution is easy to use. We now have visibility of all orders and inventory, from multiple channels, in one place. Having the automatic pull through has not only removed a tedious and time consuming manual process, but has reduced human error related to stock availability, customer terms, and fulfilment. We can also see sales performance across all channels in once place, helping us to make better business decisions.
After full trials of multiple other systems (Stitch, TradeGecko, Lettuce, Orderhive, BrightPearl, etc.) and an extended trial of Dear Inventory, we finally signed up for the large plan of this awesome service.
We found their functionality for INVENTORY MANAGEMENT to be far superior than all other systems we tried. Their recent redesign has made the layout even easier to navigate and has brought in a fresh new look to the components. It covers all the requirements for our business and the excellent support team is available to readily assist with any other missing functionality.
We found it interesting how the team values existing clients more than the prospective clients. Honestly this is an extremely valuable trait, which is disappearing fast from the services industry. To top it all, their pricing is the most competitive out there.
All in all we are extremely happy with our relationship and have no issues recommending this great tool!!!
The integration is clunky and filled with bugs. I started on this platform with DEAR & Shopify several years ago and they haven't fixed issues that have been around since I signed up. Some thing's work OKAY but for the most part I would avoid if I were you.
UPDATE FEB 2023
Simple integration issues still plague Shopify / DEAR including the inability to sync HS Codes. If you're looking for an powerful inventory tracking software that works with Shopify, look elsewhere. DEAR is still a frustrating experience to use day in and day out.
Dear system is a great app. There support team is extremely good and they get back to your inquiry pretty fast. They also have been trying to accommodate some ideas that we had which we think can work very well as new additions to the system. I have worked with few other system before switching to DEAR and I am extremely happy I made this decision.
We would be absolutely lost without Dear. I don't even know how other businesses run without Dear. I opened a B&M + ecommerce store with zero business background or retail experience, and from Day one Dear has been completely intuitive. It has been the go between step from Shopify to Quickbooks Online that allows my bookkeeper to keep up with everything without me ever needing to actually log into Quickbooks (because I don't understand the first thing about accounting). At the same time, Dear allows me total control over our inventory, down to details like creating BOM, buying in cases and splitting those cases, etc. It allows you to use FIFO, FEFO, track expiry dates, track supplier prices, track cost of different variants over time, track margins, everything! And it allows me to import sales orders and clean them up in Dear, which I love. I basically don't directly update anything in Shopify. I do it all in Dear and sync it into Shopify. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dear. And best of all - it's actually affordable. And they update it all the time! I can't say enough about Dear. It blows all the crappy competition out of the water!
We worked with them for the last 5 years and they had a good customer service. Now after a week from the first support request, they are still unable to update stock level on Shopify, and apparently the best they can do is writing you back once a day at the end of the day, and not sorting the problem yet. BAD customer service. We are losing sales because of this. Stock level is not updated and we have constant overselling that we cannot fulfil. Can you please URGENTLY fix this problem?
After considering several inventory systems like Trade Gecko and Unleashed we finally decided on DEAR. Even before we signed up the support and help we got from Kevin at DEAR was amazing.
We had lots of questions over our trial period, which Kevin patiently resolved.
We are in the process of switching over shortly and am sure that experience then will be as good as it has been so far.
The integration with Shopify and Xero works really well!
Have been using this app for 1 month and so far it has been good. Dear systems is very robust and is able to support many integrations. Support is also good as all inquiries have been responded to within 24 hours.
Just started testing DEAR Inventory after long playing around with Stitch, Tradegecko and Orderhive.
I can see now, it is love at first sight! Intuitive interface, great potential and flexibility above all. These guys did an unbelievable job. Worth trying! I like their fair and simple pricing structure as well. I will get back with my detailed overview still in January. Actually it's a pity they have so few reviews here in Shopify store, that was the reason why I first cut it off.
We migrated from Tradegecko to Dear Systems a few months ago, and have not looked back. Please see our review of Tradegecko for an idea of the frustration we had with them.
Dear Systems works well for our business. We have not had any major issues with the synchronisation process between Dear, Shopify and Xero, and when we have had small issues or queries, they have always been resolved very quickly. We actually even got to meet a Dear Systems expert in person, who was very friendly and knew exactly what the best solution was.
