My site was being plagued by spam. The first app I installed stopped the fake customer sign-ups but I continued to receive upwards of 100 'Undeliverable' mail messages a day because somehow or other the spam bots were still able to register themselves which initiated the Shopify Welcome message. All of which of course came back as undeliverable. Long story short, John at Ellipsis set up the Ellipsis code snippet for me and I've had no more undeliverable mail or fake customer sign-ups. On top of all that, the app includes a dashboard that lets you view the ratio of human / suspicious activity on a daily basis. Great app, super service!. It's a keeper!

I installed this app for the problem with spam and found terrific support that helped me protect my contact forms with so much helpfulness.

Our site has been slow for several months and sometimes our navigation menu was only partially loading on iOS browsers. After consulting with our template developer, he determined that the issue was with a particular script (vital-forms.js). I then used Firefox developer tools to validate this and traced the script back to Ellipsis and figured out that it was related to this app. I uninstalled the app and then checked on the forms that it had been "protecting". The uninstall did not remove the app scripts on those pages and a form submit would still go through their site (and not work since it was uninstalled). I had to then find all of the form liquid pages and revert them to prior to the Shop Protector install. All in all, a very poor app experience that definitely cost us some sales.

EDIT: After our experience, the company reached out to me to tell me there was an alternate script in the few cases of site slowdowns and that they were currently re-vamping the app. And they offered to get us up and running with the new script. I declined the offer, but I appreciate them getting in touch so am changing my rating from 1 to 3 stars.

Love Love Love this app. I was having so many issues with Bots and found this app. John was so helpful , I had trouble loading the correct forms so sent an email and he promptly sort it . This app is a lifesaver

We've been innundated with bot spam though our forms, getting worse everyday. I contacted Shopify and they said there was really nothing that could be done - we could pay for a re-CAPTCHA app, but even that wouldn't stop it. Then I found Shop Protector. I had some serious doubts, but thought we'd give it the 14 day trial and see what happened. After setting it up, not a single spam mail!

This app is fantastic! My website has been constantly attacked by bots that created fake customer accounts. It started slowly, then increased to 20 to 30 new, fake accounts per day. Shopify gurus suggested that I removed "create customer account" code from page headers, which I did. It slowed down the bot attacks for a few days. Similar result with Captcha in the Shopify template forms. Then, the bot attacks were back. Shopify was helpless, even after escalating my issue to advanced tech support. After searching forums, I found the Ellipsis app. It fixed my problem 100% within minutes of installing it. I highly recommend it to anyone with the bot problem. It works seamlessly behind the scenes, while allowing my customers to keep and create new accounts. I am a very happy Ellipsis customer. Thank you John and the Ellipsis team!

Cancelled orders that were NOT from bots! Lost money and had to placate irritated customers. Would not recommend.

UPDATE: The app developer personally attacked me in an email even though one of their employees was very kind in wanting to help me fix the problem explaining the delay. But because of what the CEO said to me I will never pay for any of their services or recommend it to anyone. I'm the kind of person that will change my review if I get great service. But that email just told me I did the right thing in expressing my frustrations. Shopify you need to protect your store owners from companies that treat them like this! I stand by what I said below: This app killed my stores performance. When I tried to reach out to them for help I got no response. So I'm taking the stars I gave originally completely away. As a business owner going to school and raising my kids I do not have time to chase companies like this down only to get ignored. I'm moving on and seriously thinking about leaving Shopify altogether. I have nothing but headaches dealing with this platform.
