Updated Review — Excellent Legacy Editor, Disappointing Gen 2 Experience

I originally left PageFly a very positive review after using its legacy editor to build and customize our Wallhogs website nearly 9 years ago. At the time, I found it intuitive, flexible, and well-designed, with clearly labeled controls that made creating custom layouts relatively straightforward.

Unfortunately, my experience with PageFly Gen 2 while building another Shopify website has been considerably different.

As an experienced website designer with a background in the e-commerce industry, I find the new Flex Block-based editor unnecessarily restrictive and cumbersome compared with the legacy version.

Many of the tools and controls that made the original editor so effective have either been removed, reorganized, or replaced with less intuitive alternatives. The right-hand settings panel is particularly frustrating. Controls have been renamed or grouped in ways that make their functions difficult to understand, and there is little contextual guidance explaining what they actually do.

The learning curve has increased substantially, even for someone already familiar with PageFly.

Responsive design has also become unnecessarily complicated. Tasks such as aligning images of different proportions within a three-column layout now require manual adjustments across multiple device breakpoints.

Even more concerning, I've encountered instances where layouts display correctly in the Gen 2 editor but render differently on the published Shopify storefront.

The legacy editor allowed me to concentrate on designing the website. Gen 2 frequently forces me to concentrate on figuring out how to operate the editor.

I still believe PageFly's original product was excellent, which makes this redesign particularly disappointing.

I hope the development team seriously considers restoring the flexibility, intuitive controls, clear labeling, and designer-focused functionality that made the legacy editor so effective.

At this point, I would be reluctant to use Gen 2 for another custom website project.

The flexibility available with PageFly is fantastic! One of my favorite features is Sections that can be reused across multiple pages. When we had a little bug tonight, support jumped right in and helped us resolve it quickly. The team is always very responsive.

Before PageFly, our theme limited how we could present products, and visitors dropped off fast. With PageFly we rebuilt our landing and product pages exactly how we wanted, added clear sections and stronger CTAs, and made everything load well on mobile. Conversions improved noticeably within weeks, and the support team helped us fix issues quickly. PageFly genuinely helped us make more sales.

I deleted the app after wasting two hours trying to build one page. Support was slow, gave incomplete instructions, and took 5–10 minutes to answer simple questions. Setting up even a basic announcement bar became unnecessarily difficult.

I do not recommend this app unless you have an entire week to design one page.

Constant discrepancies between editor and live page.

Hours wasted with PageFly Support having them manually correct errors! Avoid.

I've been using PageFly for over a year and always receive quick and efficient support if I run into technical issues. Rasheed was very patient and helped me to fix my landing page by adding a little code. They sent me screenshots and how-to guide to get back on track. Highly recommend this app!

The Pagefly page helps us convert sales quickly from our ads. It's a very solid user experience and cuts a lot of the friction out of the sales process.
