This app doesn’t make sense in the way it functions, which is unfortunate as we like the looks of it. We had hoped to find an app that could help us redirect visitors from our .com store to our local versions when applicable. The problem though is that the popup shows up regardless of if the customers visit the main URL or the local URL directly! Example A: Swedish customer visits our .com (English language) store. The popup shows up and suggests him to switch to our Swedish language version (.com/sv URL). This makes sense and is good for when a potential customer for instance clicks the link to our .com store in our Instagram bio. Example B: Swedish customer clicks our Swedish Facebook ad where we use our Swedish store (.com/sv URL) as landing page. The popup shows up and suggests him to switch to our Swedish language version (.com/sv URL), which is the same URL as the customer is already visiting! This is an unnecessary step that fills no other function than to bother the potential customer with a popup banner and then reload the same URL if they agree to “switch” to Swedish. How the app behaves in Example B doesn’t make any sense! It’s like if Amazon.com would show a popup for all American visitors and recommend them to switch to English language!
Hi there, Geolocation should only ever make a recommendation when the language or location is different to what the customer is visiting. If your Swedish customers are landing on audeor.com/sv, a recommendation will still pop up prompting them to switch to Swedish Krona, as your site's default is Euros. If your customers are viewing in Krona and Swedish language, and still getting a recommendation, please reach out to us and we will fix this for you!
Working great so far. Would love to see the Currency selector in a different spot though. I have a current app that allows me to place the currency selector in the upper right header so that feature would be great to add so I can use that portion of this app!
Hey Monstro Designs,
Thanks for your review. We are glad that the app is working for you.
The reason we don't support placing currency selector in the header is that buyers are likely going to see the recommendation bar / popup. Also, since most visitors are on mobile, they wouldn't see the header as it gets hidden in the Menu.

Why are the selectors at the footer? Why not in the header? This is not logical and a big UX flaw. The Shopify selectors at the top disappear when you use any other size than a big screen. I was hoping the Geo Location would at the selectors at the top...
So tablet or smartphone users don't know that they can change the language of the site. Also the Geo location does not seem to work. When I test it on different devices, I do not get a pop-up.
This works great and does exactly what we wanted in a matter of seconds.
After recently adding more currencies to our website, we needed the option for users to choose their currency. All of the Apps that we looked at used third party APIs to check the country - at least this is now controlled by Shopify. Great work!
vou testar para ver o funcionamento e futuramente posso da uma resposta positiva se Deus quiser
E parece q vai ser muito bom e vai ajudar muito.obg
The function is very good, but the layout is bad, it should allow more customization field and the top bar presentation is too bulky.
The app used to automatically convert pricing to the correct currency based on geo-location (IP), but this has stopped working for some reason?? At least inform us if you change this functionality...
Hi there, the Geolocation app hasn't ever changed currency automatically, it recommends that buyers switch into their local pricing/language. We would also suggest not changing currency based on IP as this can be frowned upon by Google. We would instead recommend automatic redirection with international domains to automatically show your buyers the right currency: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/domains/managing-domains/international-domains#switch-between-international-domains
While it works well with the Impulse theme, I tried to install with the Retina Theme (out of the sandbox) and the top position or top (fixed) entirely destroyed the Retina menu (and made it all white). Needs some more work but happy to see Shopify working on it
Hi Cambio & Co.
We appreciate the feedback. We will explore a solution to make the top bar work better with the Retina theme. Until then, you can use the popup option in the app which would not conflict with your theme header.

I cannot provide any details and what I like or dont like because the app doesnt work :( I have added it to both my stores without success! Guess Ill wait to see if they get the bug worked out because I do like the idea of it! Thank you for letting me know its working and how to check!
Hi Mystic Moon,
We do see a recommendation on your store from here in Canada! Recommendations only appear to new buyers who are from other countries or whose device is set to one of your other store languages. To test on your live store, we recommend using a VPN and accessing your shop in a private browsing window.

Very bad. Does not match the look of my store and if I don't activate the pop up recommendations (which is blunt and ugly) the geolocation function does not even work at all it instead directs all customers to Andorra! Looking for an alternative as quickly as I can to get out of this mess..
Hi there, if you're not using Geolocation's recommendations, it will not automatically redirect your customers anywhere. If you want to redirect your customers to the right country automatically, you should use automatic redirection instead: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/domains/managing-domains/international-domains#switch-between-international-domains
