BOLD Discounts ‑ Flash Sales

I had used this app for a few years, then during Cyber Monday 2025 I changed some sales prices and it changed some and made others a higher discount. I deleted all of the current sales and then even the app entirely, but THE SALES ARE STUCK ON MY PRODUCTS even without the app installed. Tried customer service which was not open. A week later and still no reply from customer service. This app cost me thousands of dollars. DO NOT INSTALL!

After using this app for years I finally found that this app is causing the issue with my products being disallowed from Google Merchant Center. When you run a sale with Bold it does not send the sale price to GMC, therefore resulting in your product to be disallowed. I reached out to support and they tried telling me it was a Shopify issue. Yet when I run a sale using the Shopify Discount, I have no issues. It's a great app provided you don't have a product feed.

Shopify doesn't have a modern system for marking products down and setting timed sales. It's an oversight that's quite strange, but thankfully for a reasonable price Bold offers this app that allows you to create discounts on a schedule with a number of features that make things like flash sales possible.

The installation was straightforward and the user interface is as well. I haven't needed support until today for a minor issue. This is after over a year and a half using the app. My customer service rep Naman asked if I could write a review while in the chat, so I'm doing so now as a professional courtesy. (Thanks, Naman!)

Converting sales is your job as a shop manager. For many of you, it's just one job out of an almost countless array of responsibilities. It's daunting. Shopify's lack of markdown tools makes something like this actually pretty necessary if you have an inventory of thousands of items and variants like I do. In my experience markdowns are better for customers. They see the discount, can calculate savings, and need one less step to punctuate a sale.

I recommend trying the app. It's a set it and forget it solution that your customers will appreciate as much as you. You can even tag sort sale items so that they populate a special "Sale" collection in your store automatically.

It's pretty great and well worth the $15 a month.

Is it dumb that Shopify doesn't have this feature already? Yes. But Bold made a nice app in the meantime.

Support is great too. Just now Chintak helped me clear a stuck sale. It happens sometimes with some of our larger sales. But they fix it quickly.

Quick, helpful, friendly, professional. Hey, I've had Bold Discounts rolling for about 10 years now. Use it everyday. Our store is massive. If it works this good for us, it'll be no problem for yours.

Decided in the 11th hour approaching Black Friday that we should have sale prices reflected on our website rather than relying solely on coupon codes like we had in the past. Found this app and installed it and was able to run a bunch of discounts in just a few minutes without any issues. The basic functionality works great right out of the box, if you want to tweak the 'on sale' tag or use the countdown timer that takes more work but all the promo discounting stuff worked great without any effort. A few days later we finally used their install services for the countdown timer and 'on sale' tag to be a little fancier than the standard, and it was prompt and worked well with no issues. Since then I have had excellent support, prompt chat support from an actual developer who was able to immediately help with any issues with how the sale icon or countdown timer were displaying in our theme, etc.

At Bold's request, I am updating my review, and i am glad they asked me to. They do take feedback and implement changes. I previously had a bad experience with an upgraded version of this app, but recent fixes have made it my go-to for running sales on our site. This app will do in a few seconds what would take much much longer to do by hand on the Shopify back-end. It is way easier to install, and you have complete control over where the sales icons and timers appear, or when they appear. It does take some getting used to the interface. The one thing that is important to keep in mind is: make sure you turn off all sales before you change pricing in your inventory. This system will handle the calculations for % or $ discounts. IF you change something while a sale is running, you risk not getting your MSRP pricing back. Aside from that, it is pretty easy to setup your groups, and easier still to get your sales going with time limits. Give it a chance!! its worth it.

The customer service is disappointing.

Bold has been extremely useful in creating sales for our business, making it super easy to put your entire store on sale. I wanted to exclude one product and hopped on their AI chat to find out how and when the AI chat couldn't quite help me a real human, Irfan, stepped in and gave me a workaround to complete exactly what I needed. Thank you BOLD and thank you Irfan!!

I'm done with this app. We've been using it for several years now, but this is the end. During our Black Friday sale we set up tiered discounts. Some variants of products were discounted 20%, some were 25%. Unfortunately, this app incorrectly discounted all of our variants 25%. It has worked fine for quite some time until we reached out to support and they told us we had two versions installed on our store. While the extra 5% may not seem like much, it is 10% more than we would typically discount our products due to our margins. We will stick with Shopify's automatic discounts going forward, especially since they finally allow you to choose if coupon stacking is an option or not.
