Update 2019-06-21: Lowering from 2 stars to 1 star.

Well, not only did they leave a lot of worthless code slowing down the pageload of my site (they offer in the reply below to log in and remove them if I want), but they have been spamming me since my 2-star review. (I'm just not that into you, guys...)

Email #1 from them: "Please don't leave us."
Email #2 from them: "Regarding your review..."
Email #3 from them: "How are we doing?" ?? A support survey for the message they sent me about the review?
Email #4 from them: "Sorry for the delay" ?? Leave me be, please!
Then they replied to the review... and I got notified of that response.

And.. then they called us about the review!

In the call, they didn't address any of my concerns, nor seemed sympathetic. They basically indicated the product direction would never include customizing options based on a user's Shopify variant selection (maybe a new "app" they want to sell eventually so they don't want to enhance this one too much?)

All in all-- I spent a lot of money, got negative value (huge waste of my time and some slowdowns) from their app, and then was pretty much harassed by them about leaving a 2-star review, with no desire to improve their product. Before giving up, I swear I went back to the app like 3-4 times over months to give it another try but I just couldn't make it work. Maybe if I sold t-shirts it'd be the bees knees... but anything more complex? Nah, shop around for another addon.

Or if you're feeling lonely, leave them a low review and they'll want to talk to you plenty...

They helped me set this up initially and it never worked very well even after. View never ended up showing the total price with options combined, even after they helped. Sounds like they thought they fixed it but it wasn't working in our browsers. Just was too much hassle to bother with them again and I hoped to get around to working with it. In addition, I really needed it to be aware of the selected variant (e.g. if the person chose variant 2, then the options should change conditionally for that item, including maybe adding a different variant to cart if they selected the option). To their credit they were fairly responsive, and told me they didn't support that use-case. But I've paid months of this and never used it because it's a pain to use and never showed up properly. They make money because they've been around for a while but it feels like they're just coasting with this app and not really trying to improve anything. If they gave me any impression they were looking to improve the app. Now I'm going to uninstall it but their uninstall process says "oh, we'll leave a bunch of junk in your liquid files but it should be harmless" rather than having a professional approach to install/uninstall. I recommend shopping really hard for an alternative options app before trying this one.

Product Options - The actual product works wonderful as do all of bolds apps, i also use Recurring Orders.

The install on this product is extremely technical and I wouldn't suggest doing a self install.

I ran into an issue with Product Options and Recurring Orders working together smoothly and MC saved the day - ask for her by name if you have questions.

Preparing to launch our store in Beta soon and MC really took a weight off of my shoulders!

Updating my review. Responsive support, first Installed this app and could not get it to work . Contacted support and they responded very quickly to help get the code installed to the liquid

Amazing customer service and EXACTLY what I was looking for my shop. I own a wedding stationery company and there's a lot of variables that go into making an invitation. They make my cart look so professional and I can bet anything the ROI will be huge. Plus, I was way too nervous to mess with the code behind this app and they set it up for me. Love it & love you guys :)

Product Options is nice. BUT.... do not think you can create an order for the customer or recreate a new order because the 7 days authorization has passed...(mainly custom product sites, but isn't the point of product options?) Shopify "Draft" order and Product Options do not play together... As this is point of product options (to get around the limitations of Shopify options (only 3 per product) on a product, and Shopify support answer is to "create a draft" order, but you can NOT leverage product options to capture data when using "Draft" orders.

The app does more or less what it should expect that express checkout can't be used at the same time otherwise the extra cost from the option selected by the customers if not added to the bill which is deeply annoying as you have to call customers one by one all the time to process the payment.

The worst part, once i cancelled my plan with them, they have charged me until the 14.04.20 when my plan was cancelled almost a month before.

I believe that this strategy times the number of people using their apps make them a nice millions dollars on our back at the end of the year for free.

It takes some time to get set up but it really is the only good option out there! Trust me I tried 5 other apps before going with Bold. If you want one that actually works and does what you want it to then this is for you. Also, great support from their online chat including Guri who really helped me even during the busy holiday push.

It is powerful, and does everything you need, but please guys, you need to develop a way for us to be able to clear the cache when a new product is published.

We publish a new product every day or two, and the cache time is too long meaning the customers do not get their customization options unless we get in there and manually clear the cache (not something non-developers would probably understand) after each product is published.

Have asked for this option months ago now, but seems to not be on the roadmap still despite support agreeing it is something they have wanted for a while as well.

Just add a "Clear Options Cache" button, or give us an option to set the cache time, and it is five stars all the way.

Bold options is the best app if you want to add product options and specialization to your store. They have the best customer support, super helpful and quick to respond
