I was looking for a subscription app and left this one to last, because of the poor reviews. But none of the others did what I needed, so I tried this one. And I like it so far. Some reviews said customers can't manage their subscriptions, but they can. This one has the best features for free, and has the nicest interface and easiest integration in my opinion.
User Beware! You would think that Shopify would understand the wants and needs of their store owners and the behavior of customers. In this instance at least, they have failed miserably! There is no functionality to this app except for having subscriptions that customers never want to change. All of the niceties to assist your customers or even analyse your subscriptions are gone.
At this point I don't see how we can keep this app.
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

We value your contribution towards the evolution of our app.

I'd give ZERO stars if I could, this app is a complete waste of time. It's pretty clear that they have no interest in fixing any of the issues when customer support advises that the best course of action is to speak to a third party dev... why would I do that when it's built by Shopify and enabled on a Shopify built theme with no alterations or any additional code. Such a joke, clearly don't know what they are doing given that it was launched after the beta version had numerous bugs.
Hello,
We're sorry you're having trouble with our app.
We are here to help and if you need any assistance you can certainly ask the support team member that you are interacting with to reach out directly to our product team.
In the meantime, our help documentation - https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/purchase-options/shopify-subscriptions/setup continues to be a valuable resource for information for setting up and using our app.
I hope this helps

App doesn't work at all. People try and subscribe (I tested myself) and it still shows as 0 active subscribers. Moved from another app to this and have now lost all my subscribers - so thanks very much.
Hello,
We apologize that you ran into issues using Shopify Subscriptions.
Your feedback is valuable. Please reach out to our support teams so we can continue the conversation and assist in solving the issues.
In the meantime, there is more information on how to migrate customers from other apps to our subscriptions app. I am linking it here - https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/purchase-options/shopify-subscriptions/import-export
Hope this helps resolve this issue if it's related to importing exisiting contracts from another app!

I'm feeling frustrated and disappointed because I've been searching for hours for a live store that uses this app to see how it works in real-time, but I haven't had any luck. even their support chat doesn't want to share any resources.
I'm surprised that the Shopify tech team hasn't created a demo store when every crappy app in the store seems to have one.
I wonder what kind of tech team is working in there, and I think someone should be held accountable for this negligence.
A bit limited at this time. We were hoping we could do a limited time subscription (for example: a 12 mo. plan), but that is not possible. We also were desiring to send a different product or product bundle each of those months, but you are limited to the same item(s) every month.
Minimal ability to edit the text, leading to confusion over terms. Specifically, the bottom text about cancel/pause/renew -- very handy, agree with it entirely on principle, I wanted to (but could not) edit the text to point out that this is for the subscription purchase and not the one-off. The formatting left it a bit vague.
Colors do not pull dynamically from BRAND, which feels an odd and uncomfortable choice to leave off.
Unsure when subscriptions bill -- the first of the month? The day customers sign up? This is not a setting nor was easy to find out when installing the app.
Options were unclear. I can add an option to send weekly or monthly or annually, I assume that's how often to customer gets charged? Would request clarification on wording in the dashboard so I can offer better thoughts. At first I took it as "oh, customer can be charged for 3 months, and then I'll mail... once... a month... no that's not right..."
While installed, there was a conflict where the subscription app was duplicating in my footer. This is not a mark-off of the app, may be a theme issue, but mentioning it for dev exploration.
The checklist in the backend upon install did not check off steps as I was going through them, which lead to considerable worry and time spent over exploration: "Am I doing this right, is something not clicking, what is happening."
Overall, the idea is GREAT as a starter. The execution needs review, the backend communication needs review.
Will keep an eye on app to see if work continues.
.
Very user friendly.
At first this app seemed great, but half the time there are glitches when I There is no way to see data about how many people have their subscriptions active (total) for fulfillment & no way to make all the subscriptions charge on the same day every month. You cannot edit the dates at all.
This app could be really great, but it seems it was rushed and a lot of basic functions are missing or glitchy.
