I've been using Shippo for approximately 2 years for all my USPS domestic mail (plant-based skin care products shipped from Canada in cooperation with a 3rd party brokerage firm), and I'm very pleased. Integration with Shopify is a breeze (recipient address and order data in; tracking number out), and postage pricing is the best I've encountered, so far. I also appreciate that it can accept and understand metric units -- when comparing options, I noticed Shipstation can't, ridiculous since most of the world operates in metric! Anyway, TLDR: I highly recommend Shippo =-)

My only complaint is that insurance doesn't automatically include the cost of shipping. Insurance values (in CAD) are entered on one page, shipping rates (USD) are on the following page... it's not intuitive to go back to the previous page and increase the insurance value to include the cost of shipping in USD (converted into CAD, so everything matches). I found this out the hard way when I needed to claim through shipsurance and only got reimbursed for the value of the products. Adding the price of postage automatically would make sense.

Truly one of the worst apps out there.
If you never need to get ahold of support, never have any orders change, nothing more complex than ship one package. this is a great app.
If you do anything more than what a second grader could accomplish, this app is terrible.
It does not sync, it wont update, order statuses will not flow through, you cant change anything, you are unable to manually update orders, oh and if you want to connect to 'support', you can wait for a year, OR attempt to work with their horrible AI chatbot.

We used Shippo for years and paid extra for their shipping insurance, expecting support if a package was ever lost. Unfortunately, when we finally needed to file a claim, the process became nearly impossible. They required things like a police report for a lost package, which makes no sense in many situations and feels designed to discourage claims rather than help customers.

In our experience, the insurance felt almost useless because of how difficult they made the claim process. If a company sells insurance, customers should be able to reasonably use it when something goes wrong.

On top of that, after removing the Shippo app from our Shopify store, we were still charged $29/month for two additional months. That was very frustrating and disappointing.

The main reason we originally stayed with Shippo was for UPS Ground Saver rates, but Shopify now offers similar shipping options directly, so there is no longer a reason for us to continue using the platform.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend Shippo. The insurance claim process was extremely difficult, and the continued billing after uninstalling the app made the experience even worse.

Shippo has made a very rough transition as smooth as possible. We had to migrate from one platform to another for our website. In seconds, after installing Shippo on our new site, all of our orders showed up on the Shippo dashboard and continue to populate seamlessly. I highly recommend this company. Ship,ship, hurray for Shippo!
