Active Campaign has really helped us connect with our clients in a more consistent and branded way. I would recommend to small businesses as they continue to grow and want to market more consistently through email. We are looking forward to more robust reporting options. Customer service has been helpful as we work through issues, although they need more staff to handle Monday & Friday calls as the wait times can be long. The ability to request a call back has been very helpful.
UPDATE: Revenue reports are down AGAIN. I contacted support about this over weeks ago with very little help. We are spending over $600 a month with Activecampaign and we are, once again, unable to have any reports that tell us the revenue generated through our campaigns. We have no idea who purchased from our site through the emails. As a wholesale distributor automation and list segmenting is crucial, and Active campaign combined with Zapier has us covered. Wish it was more consistent and reliable... we have had too many issues with tech support.

We have no idea who purchased from our site through the emails. UPDATE: The reports have been updated/fixed and we can now see the revenue generated from the emails. We can now justify the increased cost from moving to Activecampaign from Mailchimp. Overall ActiveCampaign is very easy to use with a minimal learning curve. Our account manager has been very helpful and readily available to help with setting up our account, automation, and anything else we need. There are still some major bugs. We are currently unable to review accurate reporting with revenue generated. We have no idea who purchased from our site through the emails.
UPDATE: Reports are unreliable. Revenue reporting is not accurate. It has broken twice, and takes support weeks to fix it. We are unable to produce any ROI reports to justify the high cost of Activecampaign. We have really appreciated and taken advantage of the automations and segmenting. This will be a huge help going forward. However, not a fan of their technical support. They have caused more problems than they fixed.

We can also see that segmenting IS improving deliverability. Love the easy segmenting and automations. We hope this will help us reach the right customers and increase our engagement. Currently our reports have not worked for a month and we are unable to see any revenue generated. That is a big disappointment since we are unable to justify the increase in cost.

UPDATE: Revenue reports are unreliable. If you need any type of accurate reporting do not use AC. We currently are not able to see how much revenue out campaigns are generating. UPDATE: After several months of monitoring, we can see that segmenting is improving deliverability and increasing revenue. Worth the switch! The segmenting has helped us clean up our list and put us on the path for better deliverability. Still deciding if it was worth the switch from Mailchimp.

Technical support is not up to the standards it should be and has caused numerous problems with our account, but our account manager has been fantastic. If you are considering switching to ActiveCampaign just do not rely on tech support.
Had a very positive experience so far, particularly the onboading and support team! Would be great if it could connect direct to the newsletter sign up bar within the theme... but we can work round that.
I definitely like email marketing and automations that can triggered by at least 100 different actions. I have 2 tickets currently with support team; they are slow at getting back with me or have just forgotten I exist. If your email is Outlook based you will have a lot of problems (receiving campaigns to inbox). Another thing that i find strange, is that after you send a campaign you can no longer reference the email (sometime I want to see what subject line i used, the images used, etc.) and it doesn't seem like that is an available view. I also would like if there were more campaign templates available as the 20-30 I see are very basic.

The concept and function of AC is great, and the automations are dynamic and versatile. But I can't help but wonder why designing an email in AC is so terribly clunky and difficult to use?
If visuals are a core part of your brand, you might be better off with a diff program. And if you don't have the time to dive deep into understanding automation flows, you also might be better off with a diff program. It's very complex, not intuitive, and easy to make mistakes with.
Eventually I had to hire a consultant to help build automations in AC, and my emails still don't look as good as they did in Mailchimp, but (again) the automations are more versatile and powerful.
Unfortunately, it's a bunch trade-offs.
