We have been using Smile.Io for about 14 months. As we have grown the app has worked well for us. The support team - in particular David - has been very helpful. As we have grown there have been things we needed help with and they have always been able to help and accommodate our needs. Often apps push you to move to higher levels before you are ready or able to move but Smile has always been able to show us how to manage things or help us when needed.

Smile is great due to their features and partner integrations.
***POS users this is something to be aware of.***
3 stars because we use mainly the POS feature.
When a customer decides to use a coupon during a physical transaction and clicks redeem. If they decide to put the items back at the last minute no longer wants to continue, their points will still get deducted even though no transaction was completed. In order to give them back their points you will have to manually keep track of all customers who canceled a transaction. This is an issue that leaves a lot of human error on the table due to the volume of sales we might get during busy periods of the day. Hopefully the development team will be able to add a feature for it automatically refill the customers points upon a uncompleted transaction.

When customers cancel a transaction, the reason that the points are removed is that the reward has been redeemed. Customers can still use this reward on future purchases, so the value of the points is not lost.
That being said, we are always looking to learn how we can improve Smile and make it more user-friendly. We have reached out personally to learn more about how we can help you with this!
Easy to use and setup. Big jump in price from free to 1st level but it would be handy to add customisation to the emails in free subscription.

We have 3 Shopify websites and use Smile for rewards on all of them. We have been very happy with this app and our customers love our rewards program. Smile also has a great support team. I recently talked to David and he was very kind, responsive and quickly helped me resolve our issue!

Who doesn't LOVE a discount?! My customers are always grateful to get their $5 off coupon, and I like the incentives Smile offers for them to earn their rewards. The customer service is GREAT, too. The response time is fast, and their instructions are clear. They really do offer their service with a Smile. Working with the program is easy, and I recommend this app!

This app was a fantastic solution for our small business until they changed their pricing tiers out of nowhere. We have too many customers/ orders per month to now qualify for their free plan and they want to force us into the $200/month plan after we have spent the time getting all of our customers set up. We have all of our customers with points accumulated and cannot afford $200/month to continue. We are stuck scrambling to find an alternative. I know a few other businesses that are looking for an alternative now too because they dont feel comfortable knowing smile can up and change their tiers and force you into a very expensive plan after you have worked so hard to establish all of your customers on Smile.io.
This app is not ideal or supportive for small businesses that cannot afford $200/month just to offer points to customers. We never needed any of the extra perks of the premium plans. We only needed the point program and now we have to figure out how to explain to customers that their points will be gone September 7th.
